Sorry, you can't appear for the Civil Service examination after completing Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. The minimum qualification for it is to pass or final year in Bachelor degree in any discipline at any recognized university. The age limit is also within 21-30 years. The upper age limit for the examination is 03 years for OBC, 05 years for SC/ST candidates. The minimum required eligibility is Graduation to apply for Civil services.You need to complete your graduation or you can apply while you are in final year of graduation.If you want to appear in Civil services apply for your B.tech degree course in a regular college through lateral entry for Diploma candidates or go for AMIE.You can not apply while you are diploma passed

diploma holders are not allowed to give the upsc exam because the minimum educational requirement to give the exam is that you should be a graduate. If now also you can go and get a degree, after that you can give the upsc exam

Eligibility for UPSC:

You have to complete the graduation from any recognized university.

And your age should in between 21-30 years.

So after completion of your graduation only you can go for UPSC........

Sorry, being completed Diploma in Mechanical Engineering you are not eligible to apply for Civil services.
Because,Graduation in any steam is the minimum educational qualification to apply.
You have diploma means 10+3 = 13 years only but required minimum required 15 years of academic qualification.
so, better to complete Graduation either in engineering or any degree to get eligibility for civil services.

No,you cannot apply for the Civil Services by only completing Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

The reason behind is that as per the education qualification framed for the Exam to join in Civil Services states that the candidate appearing for the exam must have completed a degree and it can be from any discipline but should have a fair percentage.Even Final year candidate is eligible for applying for the exam.

Apart from the education qualification,there are certain other standards and they are:

The candidate should be a citizen of India.

The age limit needed for the exam is that the candidate must have 21-30 years of age

There are certain upper age relxation which are allowed for the candidates of other category.


If you satisfy them all then you can apply for the exam

Yes there are some conditions to apply for UPSC civil services exams for those candidates who gets admission in diploma after their 12th class so the conditions are following for diploma aspirants :

1. The candidate must have passed 12th standard or 12th class by 10+2 system before diploma

2. Candidate must get admission in diploma at the time of admissions in university/institute/board

3. Diploma should be of minimum 3 years durations means the 1 year or 2 years diploma candidates would not be eligible to apply for UPSC Civil services exams

4. Candidate must have completed their diploma from a recognized university or institute

5. Candidate must have secured at least 50% marks in his/her diploma

6. The diploma course should be done in regular conditions means private would not be eligible.

If you have completed your diploma as per above mentioned guidelines then you are eligible but if you are not containing your diploma according to above mentioned circumstances then you are not eligible.

No dear, You are not eligible for the exam because for the civil service exam qualification is required candidate must have completed the graduation in any stream from the approved university.
For the civil service exam firstly you complete the degree in any stream from the approved university then you are eligible for the exam. The age limit for the exam is the 21 to 30 years for the unreserved category The age relaxation is for the reserved category. The minimum educational qualification is being a graduate or holding an equivalent degree from a university approved by the UGC or else being a final year student in the same.
So you being a diploma holder under the mechanical engineering stream won't help.
You are not eligible for The Civil Service exams conducted by the UPSC.

Sorry dear you are not eligible For CSAT exam because you are a diploma holder but you can appear IES exam.

Eligibility Criteria for CSAT

should be graduate from a recognized university in any stream
(marks or percentage doesn't matter)

age should be 21 to 30 years
age relaxation for OBC candidate 3 years
age relaxation for SC/ST candidate 5 years

Eligibility Criteria for IES

Should be completed degree or diploma in engineering & technology for following branch
Mechanical
Civil Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

For Civil services examination Conducted by UPSC minimum qualification stated for it is graduation in any stream or in any degree equivalent to that, but from an recognised university only. Since you have completed Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, which can not be considered equivalent to the graduation, hence you are not eligible to appear in this examination. However once you complete your graduation, then definately you can appear in this exam provided your age must be between 21 years to 30 years.

Iam sorry to say you are not eligible to write the civil services exam.

the notification issued by the upsc with respect to the civil services tells the following clause:
the candidate must hold a degree of any ofuniversities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislatures ofindia or declared to be deemed as university under section 3 of the UGC act1956.

so it is mandatory to have a degree in hand to apply for civil services.

so i would suggest you to complete B.E in mechanical engg to become eligible for applying

No, You are not eligible for UPSC Civil services after completing your Diploma in Mechanical Engineering course. To apply for this examination you have to complete your Graduation degree course from a recognised University. Final year appearing candidates are also eligible for Civil services examination.

This examination is Conducted every year by UPSC, and the notification will be published every year in the employment newspaper or in the UPSC Website. The Civil Services Examination is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to various services like the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service and Indian Police Service, as well as Group A and Group B Central Services.

So, please complete your Graduation first and then apply for Civil services examination.

The Notification of this examination will be Published in the month of February every year and eligible candidates may fill the application form Online Only. You must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years, the upper age limit will be relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, by 3 years for candidates of OBC.

Number of Attempts :

~~ 4 attempts for open, 7 for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

The examination is Conducted in 2 stages :

~~ Preliminary Examination
~~ Main examination

You have to cracked the Preliminary examination first, only then you are eligible to appeared for Main examination. preliminary examination is Objective and there are 2 papers in this examination.

But in Main examination there are 9 papers and you have to choose the subjects in main examination on the basis of Graduation. The Question Papers III to IX will be set both in Hindi and English.

ELIGIBILITY:-

Educational qualification:-

If you want to appear in IAS exam minimum eligibility is a degree from

recognized university or You must be a graduate.
Final year student, who are doing the graduation can also apply for the exam.

Age limit:

you must have attained the age of 21 years not be over 30 years of age as on 1st August.
But for OBC/SC/ST candidates relaxation of age limit is there.
For OBC-3 years relaxation, so age limit is 21-33 years.
For SC/ST-5 years relaxation, so age limit is 21-35 years.

Citizenship:-

You must be Indian.

Number attempts:-

General category candidates can appear 4 times only,
OBC can appear 7 times
SC & ST candidate have no limit for appearing in the exam.

Dear,

For the Civil Service exams,
The minimum educational qualification is being a graduate or holding an equivalent degree from a university approved by the UGC or else being a final year student in the same.
So you being a diploma holder under the mechanical engineering stream won't help.
You are not eligible for The Civil Service exams conducted by the UPSC.

yes dear you are eligible for upsc exam after completing mechanical engineering , infect you can try for IES which stand for Indian Engineering Service .
IES exam is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) and the exam is held every year for recruiting candidates for the India's government Engineering Organizations.

The candidates who are wanting for stable government job in engineering cadre then you can apply for this exam.

The exam is conducted once in a year and the exam is conducted on the month of June and the notification will be released in the month of January.

The candidates who are willing to apply for the exam must satisfy some eligibility criteria:

Eligibility:
The candidate must be a citizen of India.
The candidate must have a age limit of 21-30 years.
The candidate must have got a Engineering degree from a recognized university and the candidates must have passed out from departments
Civil,Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
The candidates who are writing their final degree exam can also apply for the exam.

The pattern for the exam is:

Personality Test

The written test consists of 5 papers

no dear you are not eligible for applying in civil service because for UPSC exams the minimum education qualification required is graduation from a recognized institute. so no you are not eligible ,wel if you want to apply than firstly you have to do engineering and than you can apply...
