Re: What is the Eligibility criteria to appear in IAS and IES exam? Am I eligible to apply for IES and IAS exam being a Civil engineering final year student?

    hi
the eligibility criteria for giving the civil services examination is that you need to be graduate from a recognized indian university and your age should be in between 21-30 years of age. And yes if you are from the civil engineering graduation you can apply for the indian engineering services also, because the criteria to appear in the indian engineering services exam is that you need to be a graduate from civil/mechanical/electrical/electronics engineering. The age criteria for both the upsc and IES exam is the same. A relaxation of 3 years and 5 years is given to the obc and the sc/st students repectively in the age criteria for both the exams

    hello dear,

the age limit criteria for IES and IAS are same the difference is only in the educational criteria..

There are some other upper age relaxations for certain defence personnel and persons who domiciled in J&K during the period from

Degree obtained by distance education/open university is also eligible if the university is a recognized university

    ATTEMPTS(for IAS and IES)

For some candidates there is a limit on the number of times you can attempt IAS Exams (Civil Services exams)
Even attending to one paper of CSAT (IAS prelim exam) counts as an attempt
Applying for CSAT (IAS prelim exam) but not attending for any paper DOES NOT count as an attempt

Re: What is the Eligibility criteria to appear in IAS and IES exam? Am I eligible to apply for IES and IAS exam being a Civil engineering final year student?

    ****Hi friend!!****

The answer to your question is
    definitely YES.

The most important, 'Civil Service Exam'(CSE) has a popular misnomer as 'IAS exam' or 'UPSC exam'

The eligibilty criteria for CSE are:
    Educational Qualifications: A bachelor's degree

    Age:- General: 21-30yrs, OBC:21-33yrs, SC/ST:21-35yrs

Note: There's a considerable age relaxation for the special categories like Blind, Deaf-Mute etc.

The eligibilty criteria of IES are:

    Educational Qualifications: A bachelor's degree.

    Age:- General: 21-30yrs, OBC:21-33yrs, SC/ST:21-35yrs

Note: There's a considerable age relaxation for the special categories like Blind, Deaf-Mute etc.

And one more important thing is,when you're asked to bring the certificates, you'd be able to do so.

As you're a final year student,
when they ask you to bring the certificates, you'll be completing your fourth year. On this basis, you're able to write the exams even though you're in fourth year.

    ***I wish you all SUCCESS!!***
