    hello,

the AMIE examination is divided into two subparts. these are:

    1. Part A

-> this is held twice an year, once in summer and other in winters.
-> it is further subcategorised into two fields:-

    1. diploma stream
    2. non- diploma stream.

different papers are held for the above mentioned categories

AMIE 2012 Exam Pattern For Diploma Stream
    Fundamentals of Design and Manufacturing
    Material Science and Engineering
    Computing and Informatics
    Society and Environment

AMIE 2012 Exam Pattern For Non-Diploma Stream
    Fundamentals of Design and Manufacturing
    Material Science and Engineering
    Computing and Informatics
    Society and Environment
    Mechanical Science
    Engineering Physics and Chemistry
    Engineering Drawing and Graphics
    Electronics & Instrumentation
    Engineering Mathematics
    Electrical Science

note* after giving the exam part a, the candidate has to do a project work for atleast one year. weightage is given to the project work as well.
total marks are calculated and eligibility list for the part B exam is prepared.

next part of the examination is the PART-B.

you are eligible to apply for part-b only if you have qualified in the part A examination.
PART B consists of a total of 10 papers out of which 7 are mandatory while 3 are optional.
