Name of Civil Services : IFS (Indian Foreign Service)
Exam Date : Prelim in 1st week of May & Mains in 2nd week of Oct
Eligibility Criteria :
1.Age limit
21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs . Ex-servicemen will get 5 more years exemption from the prescribed age limit The date of birth accepted by the Commission is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University, which extract must be certified by the proper authority of the University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate.
2.Number of Attempts
Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.
3.Restrictions on applying for the examination:
A candidate who is appointed to the Indian Administrative Service or the Indian Foreign Service on the results of an earlier examination and continues to be a member of that service will not be eligible to compete at this examination.

if you want to the become the topper of the ifs then you must have to take care of your study way or your pattern of study.

to become a topper in the IFS candidate have to devote more time to his/her study. candidate should have to practice of the old question papers.

candidate should have to study according to the proper time management.

candidate must have to update own self with the current affairs and the respective subjects.

dear friend IFS is one of the toughest exam conducted by UPSC in our country so you will have to work very hard for that and like every upsc exam gk is the main point in this exam also so you have to let yourself updated with the latest general knowledge and just study the right thing as the notification fot the exam is out you can check at upsc.gov.in so you have to give maximum efforts in given period of time so all the very best buddy

* IFS exam is one of the toughest exam of our country. A large number of aspirants try each year to get job in IFS. It means the competetion will be hard.

* To get succeed in IFS and to score good rank you have to be focused towards it.

* Steps to get very good marks or to secure rank in IFS exam are :-

> First of all collect all study materials required for preparation with the help of syllabus.
> Make a schedule for preparation.
> Study G.S daily and try to give wider prospect towards syllabus.
> Study and analyse previous years papers for perfect preparation.
> Be confident and clear your concept regarding your subjects.
