    to become an ias officer you have to apply for upsc civil services exam for this you have to complete your graduation form a recognized institute under ugc..
    arts i think can be a good suject if you are will to be an ias .
    you have to maintain good command over the subjects you wanna take in your exam.
    prepare yourself well as the no. of attempts are limited for general and obc aspirant.

    dear friend ,
    yes you are right ,you can easily crack the IAS examination conducted by UPSC with the subjects you described.

    eligibility criteria for IAS exams is:
    candidate should have completed graduation or engineering from a recognized university.
    candidates appearing in final year can also apply for the upsc exam.
    age limit for upsc exam is 21 to 30 years.
    candidates belonging to OBC and SC/ST category gets age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years respectively.

    Hi Aspirant

    Yes it's good step if you want to be an IAS Officer

    Because the arts students have always advantage for the exam

    As like they always get prepared well for the gk

    And also subjects like history and others are scoring subjects

    So you can go for the arts if you like and have interest

    Here is the Required criteria for the Ias Civil Services exam:

    -The aspirant should be pass in graduation from a recognized indian university

    -The candidate age should be between 21-30

    -Relaxation will be given to the obc candidates of 3 years

    -And relaxation will be given to the sc/st candidates of 5 years

    -You must be a citizen of India

    yes dear being a arts student your stream will surely help you in IAS ,
    and as for IAS candidate must have completed graduation from a recognized university so it will be good to complete graduation .

    Studying with ARTS is a very bright option if you are looking forward to cracking the Civil Service Exams conducted by the UPSC.
    Its a very positive decision.
    The subjects of arts such as the INDIAN HISTORY,GEOGRAPHY,POLITICAL SCIENCE AND THE PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION,are highly scoring and very helpful too.
    You can opt for these in the Mains Exams.
    Also these form the main structure of preliminary exams,and are even beneficial at the interviews.
    So just go ahead.

    IAS is under Civil Services Exam conducted by UPSC. You are eligible for IAS after graduation.

    Required Qualification to appear for Civil Services Exam

    -You should have passed Graduation degree in any specialization from recognized Institute.
    -You are for civil service exam while in graduation final year.
    -UPSC Civil service exam has no restriction on graduation percentage.
    -Your Age should be within the limit of 21 to 23 years.
    -You must be a citizen of India.

    If you are interested in arts then you should go for arts as it would really help you a lot in cracking ias you can chose history, public administration or pol.sci. GOOD LUCK

    as the required eligibility for IAS is given below

    You must have to complete your graduation from any recognized university

    you have to pass your graduation with only passing ,arks

    you can also complete your graduation in technical courses.

    Final year students can also apply in this examination.

    Age limit:- Generally 21 to 30 years

    Age relaxation is given as per government rules.

    Graduation through the ARTS STREAM SUBJECTS can keep you in best shape for the preparation of the Civil Service exams conducted by the UPSC.
    This is surely a very good option for you as the subjects of the arts stream such as INDIAN HISTORY,POLITICAL SCIENCE,GEOGRAPHY AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION,are considered to be very scoring.

    it dosent matter weather u r frm arts or sciences,upsc gives opportunity to all the branches to sit for the exams ,bt according to me arts will be help ful to u in preparatuon of ias.

    Yes, no problem for that.
    For Civil Service (I.A.S.) exam , you need to complete your graduation with passing marks only.
    You can complete your graduation with any discipline.

    ELIGIBILITY:-

    - You must have completed your graduation from recognized university.

    See,arts subjects definitely give you an upper edge when it comes to preparing for IAS.And if you really have an aptitude for arts subjects and not for medical then go for it.You will definitely find interest in preparing for IAS as well and trust me this will help you a lot.Good Luck!

    i get admission in b.a is it right to choose arts for cracking ias exam .
    i have better hold in history and pol science than science
    plz tell me about this
