if you want to become an IPS OFFICER then you have to apply for civil services examination , it is the common examination for all the civil services , so you have to clear the examination successfully to become an ips officer.


there are three stages of the examination and you have to clear all the stages to become an ips officer.

2. mains examination.

To become an IAS officer after B. Com you will have to prepare for the Civil Service exam.

This exam is organized by the Union Public Service Commission for the top level posts of India.


Eligibility criteria for the Civil service exam

You should be graduated in any branch from recognized university or its equivalent.

There is no restriction of percentage in civil service exam.

You should be in age of 21 to 30 years

if you belong to reserve category you can get age relaxation.

You have to appear for the UPSC civil service exam .If you clear this exam then you will eligible for the Preliminary test called
CSAT (Civil service Aptitude Test).


This exam consist of the Written exam of two papers.

Written exam Subjects

# General studies
# General Aptitude test

If you clear this exam then you will be selected for the Mains exam. In which you will check in the in-depth of the subjects and also Intelligence test

If you clear this then the selected candidates will be short listed such candidates will be called for the Interview. This Interview is conducted by the SSB team from the UPSC.

The age limit for the 21-30 years and relaxation age limits for the different category is available

OBS � Maximum 35 years
SC/ST � Maximum 40 years

To become an IPS officers candidate must have to crack the CSAT exam. CSAT exam is conducted by UPSC.

After Clearing this exam candidate find various post on the basis of merit that he/she obtain in the exam.

In CSAT exam there are three stage

1. prelim exam

2. Main Exam

3. Interview

After clearing above three stage you become an IPS officer.

prelim exam are the basic exam then 2nd satge is mains exam only prelim cleared candidate are eligible
3rd And last stage is Interview, only those candidate who qualified prelim and ,main both the exam

To become an IPS Officer you have to prepare yourself for Civil Services Examination.
UPSC Conducts CSE every year to select the best of the best candidates for Civil Services of this nation mainly IAS, IPS, IFS etc.
Notification is usually announced in the 1st quarter of every year so you should keep yourself informed for the same.
Minimum qualification to apply for CSE is Graduation in any discipline from recognised University approved by UGC.
And your age should be between 21 to 30 years if applying under General Category.
The scheme of examination is basically divided in to 3 stages.
Prelims, Mains and Interview.

Prelims exam consists of 2 papers mainly General Studies 1 and 2.
So you should focus 1st on clearing your prelims because unless you clear prelims you won't be able to appear the main examination.

The main examination consists of total 9 papers.
Paper 1 - General Studies
Paper 2 - General Studies 2
Paper 3 - Optional Paper 1
Paper 4 - Optional Paper 1
Paper 5 - Optional Paper 2
Paper 6 - Optional Paper 2
Paper 7 - Compulsory English Language Paper
Paper 8 - Compulsory Indian Language Paper (You can choose the language mentioned in 8th Schedule)
Paper 9 - Essay Paper.

Language papers are only qualifying in nature which won't be counted while calculating your whole score.
But they are equally important because if you fail in Language paper your other papers will not be checked.
So UPSC Examination is all about hardwork and dedication in every field and in every task.

To become an IPS Officer you have to appear and clear the UPSC Civil Services Exam(CSE).
UPSC CSE is conducted every year to make recruitments to various posts like IAS,IFS,IPS,etc.

Hello!Yes, are eligible to apply for Indian police Service (IPS) examination conducted by Union Public service Commission being Final year of Graduation.

To apply for IPS minimum age required is 21 years and above.
