    Friend,Following tips must be quite useful in the preparation of UPSC Examination like IPS are mentioned below:-- Try to spend atleast 8-10 hours of study daily for the exam preparation.-- Try to solve out as many as model question papers as you can.-- Try to collect the standard & quality study material.-- You can take the help of internet for addition knowledge or for notes for the preparation.-- You may take the help of seniors or any reputed coaching centres-- Try to allocate some extra time on subjects which are difficult for you-- Keep yourself updated with latest current affairs, you are required to be in touch with newspapers, TV News Channels and Magazines like Competition Success Review, Pratiyogita Darpan etc.

    There are so many Tips to be followed

    They are ..


    First of all you must work Hard and Put More effort

    And collect the

    <> Exam Pattern

    <> Syllabus



    Then make a " Time - Table " or ( Schedule ) to be followed


    YOU MUST KEEP YOURSELF UPDATED REGARDING THE " CURRENT AFFAIRS "

    Solve the Previous Question papers


    Study daily in the Same place

    After Reading ... make them note of key points ..

    Be confident always , don't think negative , read daily news paper and current affairs , daily study for 7 to 9 hours , solve previous paper .

    1. First Read the newspaper daily and note down the important things.
    2. Prefer the Pratiyogita darpan of the monthly.
    3. Make schedule for the study and get the help of friends.

    IPS examination is regarded as prestigious and it is the dream of many students to become an IPS Officer. But, the general impression regarding civil service examinations like IPS is that it is really hard to get through the examination. But, the candidates can get through the IPS examination with mere practice and dedicated hard work. Some of the tips for IPS examination preparation are given below:

    1)Proper planning is very much essential in the process of preparing for the IPS civil service examination. The candidate should plan the time to be spent for preparing for each subject.

    2)It is essential to go through the NCERT books of classes 6 to 12. If the candidates have a clear knowledge about the subjects covered under these books, it will be easier for them to get through the IPS examination.

    3)The candidates should keep themselves updated regarding the current affairs by reading the newspapers daily.

    4)Monthly news magazines will also be helpful. The candidates can go through the magazines like chronicle, The Frontline, Yojana, Kurukshetra, The week / outlook, Survey of Indian industries, etc�

    5)In the case of preliminary examination, it will easier for the candidates to score well in case they select subjects like geography, political sciences, public administration and history. On the other hand, it will be difficult to score in subjects like civil engineering. Therefore, the candidates should think twice before selecting the optional subjects.

    6)Preparing with the help of the past five year question papers is very much essential. This is because, generally the same pattern of questions is followed and so it will be easier for the candidates to practice well for the examination.

    7)It is very much essential for the candidates to develop their presentation skills, only with good presentation skills; they will be able to succeed in the IPS examination

    3. read news paper daily. reading newspaper is very beneficial for you because you cover a lot of awareness from this.

    To become an IPS Officer you have to clear UPSC Civil Services Exams.

    Tips For Preparations

    -Clear your basics by reading NCERT Books.

    -Get reliable and good study materials.

    -Join a good library to access all types of books,magazines,newspapers and study materials.

    -Solve previous years question papers and Model test papers.

    -Read newspapers like The Hindu/Economic Times/Times of India/The Gazette,etc.

    -Read magazines like CSR,Pratiyogita Darpan,etc.

    -Join a good coaching Class for guidance if you feel the need to get help.

    -Manage your time for studies and other activities.

    -Work hard,never give up in stress stay calm and study than worry about things.

    -Ask for help and support of family and friends when required.

    Hi Aspirant,

    After graduation you can do the preparation for IPS post.


    UPSC conducts the civil service exam for the post of IPS.

    This exam is conducted at all India Level.

    It is the toughest exam of India and lots of candidates take part in this exam.

    So you should be fully dedicated for the preparation of civil exam


    Exam stages of CSE

    Preliminary exam ( 400 marks)

    Mains exam ( 2000 marks)

    Interview (300 marks)


    Friend you should join any leading institute of your city for the preparation of Civil exam.

    With the help of coaching center you can lead your study in right direction.

    You should study according to the syllabus of Civil Service exam.

    Study with reference books for good material.

    Study newspaper and competitive magazine regularly.

    You can study Pratiyogita Darpan considered as a good magazine for competitive exam.

    Make notes what ever you study in coaching.

    These notes will be helpful for you at the time of exam.

    After completing syllabus you should start to solve previous year question paper.

    To start your preparation

    - First allocates your time properly.
    - Get some standard books recommended.
    - Before starting preparation assess yourself by solving previous years question papers.
    - According to your performance in various sections start preparing with the subject you scored least marks.
    - You may also attend coaching classes available.
    - Keep yourself updated with current affairs.

    General Studies Manual:Before you get any other book for IPS get a GS manual as it covers all aspects of Paper 1 in good detail. It is also useful from revision point of view.
