CDS stands for combined defense services,
to become eligible for the CDS exam you must have attain the age of 19 years.
and you should have completed graduation or engineering from a recognized university.
also if you are a final year student then also you can apply for the CDS and can appear in the exam.

your age should no exceed 24 years.

dear if you applying CDS to join air force then you must have subjects like mathematics and physics during graduation.

Hey friend,

Being a 1st year B.tech you are not eligible for the CDS exam at this stage as you are not satisfying the education qualification needed for the CDS exam.

Eligibility Needed:

For applying for this exam the criteria's which you need to satisfy are;

> Nationality
> Martial Status
> Age Limit
> Education Qualification
> Physical Standard

Nationality:

The candidate appearing must be a citizen of India

Martial Status:

The candidate should be a unmarried male candidate except for OTA as for it both unmarried/male candidate is eligible.

Age Limit:

The age limit for IMA is 19-24 years

For Indian Navy it is 19-22 years

For Indian Air Force it is 19-23 years

For OTA it is 19-25 years


Education Qualification:

The candidate joining in IMA/OTA should have completed a degree from a recognized university with a fair percentage

For joining in Indian Navy you need to have completed a Engineering degree.

In the case of joining in IAF you need to have completed a degree with physics and mathmatics as subjects.

SIR ,i wanted to know the syllabus of cds exam. Also, i am in first year b.tech ,when i will be eligible to appear for the exam and what are the eligibility criteria.

CDS:-Combined Defense Service Exam(CDS) this Exam is conducted by Union public Service Commission and this examination is conducted by Twice in a year.

Dear friend now your not eligible for the CDS Exam because now your are the First year student so now your not eligible but you can apply in final year or Complete your graduation.

Eligibility Criteria for Combined Defense Service Exam:-

Nationality:- The Candidate should be citizen of india

Educational Qualification:- The Candidate should be finished the bachelor degree or Engineering degree in any discipline from recognized university from recognized university.
Note:- Final year students also eligible for the CDS Exam and there is no minimum percentage of mark for this examination.

Age Limits:-

For Indian Military Academy :- 19 to 24 years
For Officer Training Academy:- 19 to 25 years
For Naval Academy:- 19 to 24 years
For Air Force Academy :- 19 to 25 years.

Physical Standards:- The candidate should be medically fit for this examination.

cds is one of major exam conducted by upsc that allow the aspirants to join any of the three armed forces .
you can apply for cds while pursuing your final year or after completing your graduation .
your age for this exam should lie between 19-25 years
for IMA(Indian Military Academy) And OTA(Officer's Training Academy) student should have passed Graduation from a recognized university and for the Indian Air Force the applicant should be pass in Graduation With Physics or Maths.
age for different priorities
for IMA age required is 19-24 years
for OTA age required is 19-25 years
for IAF age required is 19-22 years

OBC and SC/ST category gets an age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years respectively.

Eligibility required:

1. For IMA : 19 to 24 Years
   For OTA : 19 to 25 years

2. The selection process consists of a written exam and personality test by the Service Selection Board. After the final selection, you are sent to one of the following institutes for orientation training as per your Preference at the time of filling the application form.
3. The examination is Objective and there are 3 papers in Air Force Academy Examination:

   >> General Knowledge
   >> Elementary Mathematics

You are in first year of B.Tech course so you are not eligible to apply for CDS Exam this time. You can apply for CDS Examination While in Final Year of B.Tech course or after completing B.Tech course.
