Sorry to say that for both exam only unmarried male candidates are eligible.

For NDA Exam :-

• You should have to passed your 12th and also 12th appearing students are eligible.
• You must be under 16.5-19 years.
• You should not married.
• You must be citizen of India.
• Only male candidates are eligible.
• You should be physically good.

IMA stands for Indian Military Academy , it comes under Combine Defense Services.

For IMA Exam :-

• You should be graduate and also can apply in last year of graduation.
• You must be under 19-24 years.
• Only male candidates are eligible.
• You should not married.
• You must be physically good.
• You must be citizen of India.

I am very sorry to say that Female Candidate are not eligible to join IMA and NDA.

NDA stands for National Defense Academy.

This examination is conducted by UPSC twice time in a year.

IMA stands for Indian Military Academy.

This comes under C.D.S.(Combined Defense Service) which is also conducted by UPSC twice time in a year.

Only unmarried male candidate are eligible to apply these exams.


For IMA exam :-

The minimum Education qualification is Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized University.

Candidate should be an Indian Citizen.

Age should be between 19 years to 24 years.

Only unmarried male candidate are eligible to apply.

For NDA exam:-

Candidate should be an Indian citizen.

For Army wings:-

Candidate must have completed 10+2 exam of a recognized School or Board and studying in the final year of 12th examination may also eligible to apply for Army wings.

For Navy / Air force wings:-

Candidate must have completed 10+2 with PCM subjects from a recognized board.

There is no minimum marks required for NDA Examination .

Age limit:-

Age should be between 16.5 years to 19 years.

There is No age relaxation for reserved categories in this exam.

Only unmarried Male candidate are eligible to apply this exam.

Girls are not eligible for NDA exam.

You can apply for Officer Training Academy for that your age must be under 19-25 years.
OTA comes under CDS exam.

For CDS exam candidate must be graduate and also can apply in last year of graduation.

As you asked that how to join NDA and IMA, first thing you need to take care before you apply for NDA examination is that girls cannot apply for NDA examination.
NDA stands for national defence academy examination and this exam is conducted by union public sevice commission of india.
this examination is conducted twice but unfortunately this is not for girls.
AS tou have mentioned that you want to join IMA, so you can join for the same after the completion of the graduation, through CDS examination.
you have not mentioned your trade so iam explaining the whole eligibility criteria.
1) graduate in any discipline can apply for indian army and graduation with physics ,maths or engineering can apply for indian navy and air force as well.
2) age limit fot every academy is different-
for officers training academy 19 to 25 years of age.
for indian millitary academy 19 to 24 years of age.
for naval academy 19 to 22 years of age .
foe air force academy 19 to 23 years of age is required.
3) selection procedure-
it includes three steps:
written test
SSB interview
Medical examination.
you have to qualify these three steps for selection.

Sorry friend but female candidates are not eligible for any of these two Exams. Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for these two Exams.
If you are so eager to join Defence you can apply for OTA (Officer Training Academy) through CDS Examination.

The eligibility criteria for CDS Exam (OTA) are as follows:
The candidate must be Indian.
The age of the candidate should be in between 19-24 years.
The candidate should be unmarried.
The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university
Final year degree students are also eligible

NDA:-national defense service

this exam is conducted by upsc twice in a year

your age should be in between 16.5-19


your height should be in between 157cm


you should be mentally physically strong

Because female candidate are not eligible for both examination

These exam only for male candidate

So you can not apply

You can apply OTA (officer Training Academy )Examination after competing your Graduation degree

The Women are not eligible for the NDA exam If the Wmens want to join the Indian defence field then they have to first complete graduation aftr the graduation they are eligible for the CDSE exam. By the CDSE exam they can join the Indian Military Field.

The Women�s are also eligible for the CDS exam. This exam is conducted by the UPSC.every year this exam is conducted in order to intake the candidates in the different fields of the defence .

Education Qualification
The candidates should be graduate from the recognized college or university. In the graduation you must have minimum aggregate of 60%

Age limit � 19 -24 years

Nationality � The candidates should be Indian citizen

Sorry to say but you are not eligible for the NDA Examination because of the following reasons :

* the Union public Service Commission has set a criteria that only male candidates who are under the age group of 16.5-19 years are eligible for the exam.

So , due to this you cannot appear in NDA Examination.

But if you want to join Indian Defence , then you can fulfill your dream through CDS Exam.

Female candidates are not eligible for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Military Academy (IMA) examination. Only Unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply the NDA and IMA entrance examination.

So, if you are a female candidate then don't think about the NDA and IMA examination. I advise you to go for another entrance examination like CDS...etc.

only unmarried male candidates who are passed/appeared in 12th are eligible to apply.

but I can give you advise that if you want to go in defence than you only can try after graduation in CDS (OTA) .

Sorry friend Your not eligible for the Indian Military Academy Exam but you are eligible for this Officer Training Academy Exam so you can Apply for this exam and this exam also conducted by CDS.

Sorry dear but you are not eligible for both National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (NDA) and Combined Defence Services Examination (for IMA, NA & AFA). As eligibility criteria for these exams states that the applicant should be a male.
But as you are doing a B.E. course so you have more bright chances in Engineering services exam and Civil services exam and you can apply for them.

For induction in the both academy UPSC conducts viz NDA & CDS examination, twice in every year.
for the unmaarriesd males only so you can miss both the acedemy while you can make choices for short commission in CDS(OTA) for which un married females of age 20-25 years are admitted.

IMA ie INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY is conducted by both CDS & NDA.
NDA is NATIONAL DEFENSE ACADEMY

Basic eligibility required for NDA are:
- You are eligible for NDA after 10+2 exam.
-only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
-candidates appearing in 12th class can also apply.
- Age : From 19 Years to 24 years. Engineer graduates 20 to 27 years
- Degree. BA, B.Sc or B.Tech/BE

Basic eligibility for CDS are:

1. For IMA : 19 to 24 Years
   For OTA : 19 to 25 years
   For Naval : 19 to 22 years
   For Air Force : 19 to 23 years.
2. The selection process consists of a written exam and personality test by the Service Selection Board. After the final selection, you are sent to one of the following institutes for orientation training as per your Preference at the time of filling the application form.
3. Only unmarried male candidates can apply

So as per eligibility mentioned above you are not eligible for any of the exams.

must have passed +2 class
should be an indian
only male can apply


Eligibility Criteria for IMA


candidate can apply through CDS for IMA
age should be between 19 to 24 years
