The syllabus for Prelims examination is below:

PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION
The Examination shall comprise two compulsory

papers of 200 marks each.
Paper I - (200 marks) Duration : Two hours
1. Current events of national and internationalimportance.
2. History of India and Indian National Movement.
3. Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
4. Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
5. Economic and Social Development - Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
6. General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialisation
7. General Science.

Paper II- (200 marks) Duration: Two hours
1. Comprehension
2. Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
3. Logical reasoning and analytical ability
4. Decision-making and problem solving
5. General mental ability
6. Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation(charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level)
7. English Language Comprehension

UPSC stands for Union Public service Commission this exam's is organized by Civil service Commission for every year.Upsc exam conduct by Three stages.

UPSC prelims minimum qualification :-

~~Completed graduate degree with any discipline .

~~No percentage bar required .

~~Age should be between 21 years and 30 years .

~~Upper age limits is applicable .

UPSC Prelims Syllabus :-

Prelims is divided into two papers and duration of each paper is two hrs . Total marks of each paper is 200 Marks .

the first paper is based on current affairs, geography, history, ecology, biodiversity, indian polity, governance, general issues on environment etc

upsc preliums exam include csat paper and gs paper, for this english, mental aptitude i.e.qualitative and quantitative aptitude need to be polished ,gs can be handled with ncert books for all subjects ,the hindu or any good news paper ,any current magzine ,wizard compiled edition for preliums special gives good coverage,indian economy pratiyogita darpan. are minimum and must to be read!

The Civil Services Examination consists of two successive stages -

(i) Civil Services Preliminary Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination; and

(ii) Civil Services Main Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts noted above.
The Preliminary Examination consists of two papers of Objective type (multiple choice questions) and carry a maximum of 400 marks. There are two compulsory papers of 200 marks each. The question papers are be set both in Hindi and English. However, questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills are tested through passages from English Language only without providing Hindi translation. Each paper is of two hours duration. Blind candidates are allowed extra time of twenty minutes for each paper.
