You are not allowed to apply for the NDA Examination while studying first year intermediate course . To apply for the NDA Examination , you have to complete your intermediate course OR studying in the final year of 12th examination OR awaiting the exam results may also eligible .

But first candidates are not eligible to apply for the National Defence Academy Examination . This examination is mainly conducted for recruitment of three wings and they are Army wings , Navy wings and Air force Academy and Naval Academy post .

If you have a interest get into Navy or Air force , you must have a compulsory physics and mathematics as subjects at 12th level examination and need to completed 12th examination from a recognized School or University or equivalent qualification .

So first complete you are 12th examination then apply for the NDA Examination first candidates are not allowed to apply .

Being 1 st year of Intermediate course you are not eligible to apply for national defense Academy examination.
You can start the apply in your Second year of Intermediate course.
Because as per eligibly conditions,Final year/Completed Intermediate course in science group are only eligible.

Age limits required are in between 16 1/2 to 19 years only.

Still you have one more of time so,be concentrate on intermediate course as well as NDA examination.

No you cannot write the NDA Exam as per now,as you can only apply for the exam only after passing Intermediate and not without finishing

The reason behind it is that the candidate appearing for the exam must have completed +2 and it should be from a recognized school board of education and with a fair percentage in the case of joining in Indian Army.

If you are wishing to join in Indian Navy or Air Force you need to have completed +2 with Physics and Mathematics as subjects with a fair percentage

There are certain other criteria's which are needed to be satisfied in order to apply and they are:

>> Nationality

>> Martial Status

>> Age Limit

>> Physical Standard


If you are going to satisfy all these then you can apply for the NDA exam

In order to compete in the exam you need to have some qualification which are listed as below and if you satisfy them you surely can apply

Sorry to say that you are not eligible for the NDA exam wile studying the 10+1.NDA stands for the National defence academy.The examination is oragnised by UPSC twice every year in the month of april and august.

The minimum academic qualification required for this examination is that you must have either done your 10+2 or appearing for it with mathematics and english as compulsory subjects in 10+2 from a recognised board.

The age limitations is 16.5 to 19 years.no relaxation is provided to any one.

You must be an unmarried male Indian.

You must be physically and mentally fit.

Of-course Dear, if your age is 16 and 1/2 years than you can apply for the same. But one suggestion for you, applying is not a great job, great is to appear the exam with full preparation. So, work hard, and prepare the exam so minutely, sincerely, seriously and thoroughly.. otherwise there are lakhs of applicants apply each year and there will be no difference between them and you.... Eligibility for NDA - National Defense Academy exam :

Departments under NDA : Indian Army, Air Force and Indian Navy :

If you wish to apply for Indian army sector then you need to have 12th passed in any discipline from a recognized board or Institute and your age should not be lesser than 16.5 years and more than 19 years

If you wish to apply for Indian Navy and Indian Air Force jobs then you need to have passed in class 12th with mathematics and physics as a compulsory subject at 12th standard from a recognized board and age limitations follows same as mentioned above in Indian army sector

You will have to qualify a separate pilot aptitude test if you want to go in air force sector and if you apply for another sector then you may go through NDA exam.

you are not eligible for the NDA exam while you are studying intermediate first year.You can try it after your intermediate.

Age Limit and Qualification for NDA Entrance Exam:

1)Candidates who are appearing for the NDA exam must complete 12th from a recognized university
2)Candidates who are appearing for the NDA exam must be unmarried males.
3)They must be atleast 16 1/2 years and not more than 19 years on January 1st or July 1st of the year subsequent to the year of the exam

But you can prepare for NDA from now onwards.

Syllabus of NDA examination:

paper-1:Mathematics(300 marks)

1.Algebra
2.Matrices and Determinants
3.Trigonometry
4.Analytical Geometry of two and three dimentions
5.Differencial Calculus
6.Integral Calculus and Differential equations
7.Vector Algebra
8.Statistics and Probability

Paper-2:General Ability Test(600 marks)

There are two parts in this paper

Part A:English(200 marks)

Part B:General Ability(400 marks)

In general eligibility 100 marks for Physics,60 marks for Chemistry,40 marks for General Science,80 marks for History,80 marks for Geography,40 marks from Current Events..

You can apply for NDA & NA exam only of satisfy these basic eligibility criteria's
Age Limit
NDA & NA 16.5 to 19 years

Educational Qualification
For Army: 12th appearing or 12th class pass of 10+2 of school education pattern or equivalent examination conducted by State Education Board or University.
For Air Force, Navy & Naval Academy: 12th class pass of 10+2 of school education pattern or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by State Education Board or University.
