You cannot change the optional subject after submission the application form.

Now you have only one option, you go with your optional subject and start the preparation of the exam.

Please touch with the upsc official website www.upsc.gov.in

In the future when you fill any form then firstly read the instruction carefully then fill the form.

And also took the guidance from the senior person.

    Hello Friend,

UPSC asks about the optional subjects while filling prelims form. That is only for statistical purposes. The optionals that one fill in the mains form are regarded as final and it is not possible to change it later. So, be very careful while filling mains form.

    Thanks,

I am sorry to say dear that if you have chosen the optional subject for your mains exam and have submitted your application form then there is no chance for you means you can not edit your application form and you can not choose any other subject because this facility is not provided by the UPSC Authority and according to the UPSC board rules - Every candidates those who have qualified in preliminary exam must ensure themselves that they are 100% agree to that subject which they are choosing for their mains exam so that you also should be aware during to choose your optional subject that you are choosing the subject which is good for you and you may prepare well for that subject but when you have submitted your application form then it can not be edited and you will have to appear for your mains with your selected subjects.

There would be 9 papers in your mains exam which are following as :

    1. Paper I - Any Indian Language - 300 Marks
    2. Paper II - English Language and Comprehension - 300 Marks
    3. Paper III - Essay - 200 Marks
    4. General Studies Paper I - 300 Marks
    5. General Studies Paper II - 300 Marks
    6. Paper I for your selected subject - 300 Marks
    7. Paper II for your selected subject - 300 Marks
    8. Paper I for your optional subject - 300 Marks
    9. Paper II for your optional subject - 300 Marks

    Total Marks - 2000
    Interview Marks - 300
    Grand Total - 2300

    All the best
