IAS interacts directly with the common people and later as they move their upward journey are in direct contact with Ministers, from where they derive immense powers. Being the Backbone of our Steel Frame, Bureaucrats of all genre rule the roost, but IAS holds the antique charm and fragrance.

I did not get u what you meant by IES here,if it is Indian Economic Service, well it is a top grade sophisticated service and if u meant it to be Indian Engineering Services, it's a really powerful service as far as the real time engineering goes in the country.

Again what u meant by ICS is highly confusing, as India has done away with Indian/Imperial Civil Service tags decades ago.

whatever said and done, UPSC held exams hold great merit, power, social prestige and respect and more importantly, u get a life time opportunity to bring about real life changing decisions in the common man's life. If u are a sincere and dedicated officer with a Kind heart towards the common man's troubles, they for u, SKY IS THE LIMIT, for achievement.

Remember, are in these services to serve your brothers and sisters of our great country and let that spirit never die in you at any point in time.U be the catalyst for change, do wait for someone to come by and guide u to the change u always thought. Be the leader, never follow the crowd. You will be a satisfied man at the end of it all, if u have done good to others and live a like a King/Queen.

My dear friend IAS holds the supreme power,status,fame in the society. But as far as money is concerned the IFS officers earn a little more money than IAS officers as IFS officers represent our country in foreign while IAS officers work for our country internally and they are in direct contact with prople, Ministers, Prime-Minister when they become senior most.

Sorry,I don't suppose engineering science graduates will apply for physical science in IES.
All the posts you have got mentioned, have the powers in their own means. All area unit an equivalent difficult jobs in their own fields. And to crack all the examinations area unit an equivalent problem. Sorry, It will not be simple to you to look physical science paper whereas you're a engineering science students. dear its very difficult to say that which exam is easy in upsc ,
all exams conducted by upsc are not easy and needs hard work to clear,

so i would suggest you to work hard in the preparation and solve more and more practice papers so that for you every exam becomes easy to crack,

all the services has equal values every service mentioned in your questions has its own importance but if you want to know my view than I prefer IAS. ias stands for indian administrative services .

and the answer of your second question is that we should not think that which exam is easy or not we just prepare for what we want .

IAS has the more power than all(IES,IFS,IPS,IFS and ICS).

All UPSC exams are hard to crack for that you need lots of hard work.

and Computer science graduate are not eligible for IES.

IAS officers are the backbone of Indian Govt. They hold the most powers.
All important daily affairs of the govt are handled by an IAS officer including framing & implementation of policy.
Other exams also enjoy good ranks & powers.
But none of the exams are easy to crack.

IAS have the highest power & responsibility among above but all examination are of same level there is nothing said in terms of EASY or HARD, as EASY or HARD depend's on your preparation

however number paper's helds for IES,IFS are less then that of CIVIL services EXAMINATION.


YES,any engineering graduate can give the IES but he has to choose among four descpline for the mode giving examination

-> electrical engineering,
->mechanical engineering
->civil engineering
->electronics & telecommunication engineering

As all posts have much reputed and very power full posts

Also dear for all these you have to give the cse exam

And posts will be given according to the cut off

As highest rank holders will get the Ias post and then IPS And so on

see it depends on u that what u can crack. Nothing is difficult, if u r interested in IAS than i believe u should know everything regarding that. similarly for all others. So it is on u..

All of these are india"s highest civil services so have equal power .none of them is easily cracked .these exams requires a lot of hardwork,patience and focus.

as the paper is same so, we can say all these required the same hard work.
but you will be selected for these different post according to your performance in the exam and
also depend on the preferences you have given in the application.

well friends all the posts that you mention above are powerful having their own importance , and no one is easy to crack because all are one of the repudiated post of India , i will suggest u to go with IAS because it has its own reputation for this you need to work very hard , if you belong computer background no problem but you need to so hard as compare to others to crack IAS exam conducted by upsc...

Sorry, It won't be easy to you to appear electronics paper whereas you are a computer science students. Still If you have the strong knowledge & mastery in electronics subject then you can take it as your optional paper.
