IRS stands for Indian Revenue Services. Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC for the recruitment of candidate for the post of IRS officer.

The basic eligibility criteria for Civil Services Exam are as follows:
The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university. Final year degree students are also eligible
The age limit is 21-30 yrs
The maximum number of attempts for General category is 4
The candidate should be Indian

IFS stands for Indian Forest Services. IFS Examination is conducted by UPSC for the recruitment of candidates in the Forestry Department of India.

The basic eligibility criteria for IFS Exam are as follows:
The candidate must graduate from any recognized university with at least one of the fourteen subjects given below:
Agriculture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary science,
Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Botany, Zoology,
Agricultural engineering, Chemical engineering, Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering.
The age limit is 21-30 yrs
The maximum number of attempts for General category is 4
The candidate should be Indian
