Examination pattern for UPSC IES exam is as following- 1 General ability test-it will consist total 200 marks and two section will be there ,first will consist general studies and second will consist general English. 2 Objective paper 1 and 2 -both will consist total 400 marks. Once you clear all these exam then you have to go for main exam where you will get two papers and both will be subjective type.Both will consist 400 marks thus total marks will be 1000. Note-you have to solve subjective paper in 3hrs and objective paper in 2 hrs. After main exam candidates will be called for personal interview.
