UPSC Civil Services Exam(CSE) is conducted in 3 stages :

1.Prelims/CSAT Exam
2.Mains Exam
3.Interviews

CSAT stands for Civil Services Aptitude Test.
It is conducted to shortlist candidates for the Mains Exam of CSE.
It consists of two papers of multiple choice objective type question paper.
The CSAT question papers are is printed in English and Hindi.
Total weightage for CSAT Exams is 400 marks.
UPSC Prelims/CSAT Exam Pattern :

General Studies Paper - I	200 Marks
General Studies Paper - II	200 Marks

Refrence Books for CSAT Exams :

-Read NCERT Books from school level on subjects like science,history,geography,etc.
-Read Books for CSAT preparations of good authors and publishers.
some of them are R.S.Aggrarwal,Tata Mc Graw Hill,Pearsons,etc.
-Read good newspapers like the Hindu,Economic times,etc.
-Read good magazines like the CSR,Pratiyogita Darpan,Marnorama Year Book,etc.
