Re: When and where does UPSC conduct IFS (Indian Foreign Service) exam? Indian Foreign services is a part of Civil services exam only.Several people confuse the Civil Services exam as IAS exam but IAS is only one of the services in Civil Service exam. You need to appear for Civil services exam if you want to get into Foreign Services.Actually it is the most coveted service and most of the top rankers prefer it over IAS.You have to apply for Civil services and then you will have to qualify the preliminary, mains and then the interview and then have to be in the top ranks to get IFS.The exams are conducted all over the country in the state capitals as any other UPSC exam.
