You really dont go for different study than other but you should be stick to expected studies. As selection will be based on what UPSC expects from you rather you expect job from them.

You should read newspapers daily. Currents issues will be based on that only. newspaper gives you idea about particular issues in broad manner so you can co relate articles with old articles already published. I will tell you to understand the concept of issues rather to mug it up.

AS expected by UPSC is, candidate should come up with opinions on particular current affairs and what different perspective may be possible for that particular event is what you need to think.

Preparation material you have to buy from market. and information of that you can easily get on internet.
