    the age limit - 21 to 30 years for general and a degree from an ugc recognised university.
    if you fulfil above requirements then you can apply for upsc civil services examination and crack the exam to become ias officer.

    Hello,
    You have to apply for the post of IAS through Civil Services Examination.
    Civil Services Examinationis conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates for the postof IAS, IRS, IPS.

    The basic eligibility criteria for Civil Services Exam are as follows:
    The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university. Final year degree students are also eligible
    The age limit is 21-30 yrs
    The maximum number of attempts for General category is 4
    The candidate should be Indian

    Eligibility criteria:

    A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or board or institute and if you are pursuing final year of the degree or awaited for the result of final year or appearing for final year exams then also you can apply for UPSC civil services exams

    Degree obtained by distance education/open university is also eligible if the university is a recognized university

    Age limit


    General 21-30 yrs

    SC/ST 21-35 yrs
    PH 21-40 yrs

    Number of attempts permitted


    General 4

    OBC 7
    PH 7
    SC/ST No Limit

    Nationality should be Indian.

    Dear Friend

    First of all I would appreciate you as you want to become collector that is an Indian Administrative Officer.

    For becoming collector ,you will have to crack the three stages of the entrance examination conducted by the examination council of India that is Union Public service commission and the exam is called Civil services examination:

    1.Preliminary exam or Civil services Aptitude test

    2.Main examination

    3.Personal interview

    Before appearing for this exam you need to fulfill the certain requirements which are as below:

    1.You should have the basic educational qualification as bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.You can also appear for the exams during your final year of graduation

    2.The age limit for the exam is:

    General :21-30 years

    OBC:21-33 years

    SC/ST:21-35 years

    3.You should be an Indian citizen.

    4.No of attempts:

    General :4

    OBC:7

    SC/ST:no limit
