IES exam stand for Indian Engineering Service examination , as well as ESE also stand for Engineering Service examination , basically the new name has been given to IES

exam so you can tick any one of the name , the meaning remains same , and this exam is conducted by UPSC every year for recruiting abler candidates for the post of

engineering department in different fields of engineering based on their capability .

What are the differences between IES and ESE?

i have read that ies and ese are same. but in upsc site i saw that date of examination of ese and ies is different. so i am confused, plz clear my doubt
