Acronym IPS stands for Indian Police Services. It is one of the good post and has good pay scale.IPS officers salary starts at 40,000/month and they can go to 1,00,000/month by the time he retires.

for IPS post you have to write Civil Services exam that is conducted by UPSC every year.


for Civil Services exam you need graduation degree fro recognized college or university with any percentage. final year graduation students are also eligible to apply for the exam.
your age must be within 21 years to 30 years. there is relaxation in upper limit upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.


before apply for Civil Services you need to check your physical standards. because it might leads to disqualification at the time of Physical and Medical Examination.

Physical Requirements:


Height:- Male 165 cm & ST(not for SC and OBC) 160 cm.
Female 150 cm & ST(not for SC and OBC) 145 cm.
Chest:- Male minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Female minimum 79 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Eye Sight:- 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good Eye
6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.
Near Vision J1 for Good Eye and J2 for worst eye.
