There is not such requirement to choose only B.Tech or Any technical Subjects in Graduation to success in IAS as there is no technical question that are asked in exam
First of all you must knows about IAS are
-Must be Graduate in any subject or stream

-Must be Indian

-Must be of Age b/w 21-30

It is recommended that you must prepare for exam from first year of Graduation,you can do it by yourself or by coaching.

Will it be better to go for B.A. with the revevant subjects i want to continue in the UPSC exam or a technical degree such as B.tech. ?
and if i go for B.A. should i go for the IAS coaching from the very first year or after my graduation...?
