[FONT=Times New Roman][/FONT]Dear friend, there is only a single examination an only a single way to become IPS officerwhich is CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATION , it is a combined examination for all the civil services of central govt. it is good that you are in final year so you can apply for the same in nextyear , although the final year candidates are eligible to apply for the same but this year you are late because the exam is held in the monthof May/June and the notification for the same is released in the month of January /February. and have approximate one month tofill the application form . but you are allowed to fill the application form only when you satisfies allthe requirements of the examination as given below:- ##EDUCATION QUALIFICATION :- * CANDIDATE MUST BE GRADUATE FROM A UGC RECOGNIZED UNIVERSITY. ##NATIONALITY:- * CANDIDATE MUST HOLDS THE CITIZENSHIP OF INDIA. ##AGE LIMITATION-: *CANDIDATE MUST BE BETWEEN 21 TO 30 ##RELAXATION CRITERIA-: * CANDIDATE BELONGS TO OBC CATEGORY THREE YEARS AGE RELAXATION. * CANDIDATE BELONGS TO SC/ST CATEGORY FIVE YEARS AGE RELAXATION. * CANDIDATE BELONGS TO A CENTRAL GOVERNMENT SERVANTS FIVE YEARS AGE RELAXATION. * CANDIDATE WHO ARE PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED TEN YEARS AGE RELAXATION. ##NO OF ATTEMPTS :- * GENERAL CANDIDATE CAN SIT ONLY FOUR TIMES IN CIVIL SERVICES EXAMS * OBC CANDIDATE CAN SIT ONLY SEVEN TIMES IN CIVIL SERVICES EXAMS * SC/ST CANDIDATE CAN SIT AT THE AGE OF 35 YEARS IN CIVIL SERVICES... Hey If you have done graduation from a recognized university and your age lies in between 21-30 years then you can apply for the IPS exam. For this you will have to go to the UPSC online website http://www.upsconline.nic.in and fill the application form. After that you will get the roll number at your home from UPSC. IPS EXAM PROCEDURE 1.Preliminary Exam 2.Main Exam 3.Interview You must have to clear the preliminary exam for entering in the main exam of IPS. The main exam is the most important exam which consisits the 9 papers. After clearing the main exam you will be called for interview and finally you will be posted on IPS. Thank you. It will be better if you give Indian history/ Law/ Management as you would know everything about this topics and you can learn easily compared to other subjects... Law will be perfect as it can implement in your job also. You have to first apply and see your eligibility before applying. Age limit min 21 and max 30 for OC,33 for MBC, 35 for SC/ST... Degree should be obtained from a government approved college.
