Re: How to join RAW through UPSC?

    Dear Aspirant !

R&AW service is known as RAS (Reasearch and analysis Service)

    >>>If you want to join R & Aw directly then i have two ideas in mind :

-->RAW rcruite directly through Staff Selection Commission(SSC) , by the examination called Deputy field officer under the cabinet of secretary,Cabinet secretary post is also an IAS officer and hanled by him in Prime Minister office.

--> The persons who secured top position in IAS exams are invited by RAS to join them.It is difficult.

RAW prefers the persons in technical or scientific field. My Suggestion is better to prepare Civil Service Examination-2013 to get oppurtunity to RAW...

    Good Luck

Re: How to join RAW through UPSC?

The recruitment for RAW isdirectly done through an exam organised by the Staff Selection Commission.
The exam's name is Deputy filed officers under cabinet secretary in which you can appear.

RAW also recruits from Army, Police, and other armed forces also.

    Exam pattern
The exam tests candidates in English language and general knowledge. An interview and a compulsory medical examination follow the test. Graduates (upper age limit is 25 years) are eligible to appear for the examination.

Re: How to join RAW through UPSC?

    Hello Guest,
RAW is an integral part of the Investigation Bureau (IB).
The following personnel are mainly employed by RAW:
    Attache (Undersecretary),
    Deputy Field Officer,
    Field Officers
    Senior Field Officers.

Other personnel working in RAW include Specialists in technical and scientific fields, Foreign language specialists etc.

The appointments in RAW are made through deputations, promotions as well as direct recruitment. Senior level appointments in RAW are made in two ways.
1.on the campus recruitment of Civil Service candidates at the foundation course and
    2. recruitment of Graduates. Special appointments are made in technical or scientific field through campus interviews at such institutes.
RAW prefers persons who have had some experience of working in Govt. organizations. Interview panels include experts and selectors from UPSC.
    THANKS.
