the educational qualification for the ifs exam require atleast one of these
Animal Husbandry and veterinary Science, Botony, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology, Agriculture, Forestry Engineering as subjects.

agriculture engineering and forestry are god subjects if you have the proper knowledge and a good command over these subjects. preparation for ifs is also not so simple it needs hard work a good interest.so a well planed preparation by allocating time each subject so that every thing gets managed will be the key to success.there many books about these subjects ,you can refer them according to your need.several couching institutes are also there that raise your abilities.
you can take the advice of those who has succeeded in this exam for proper knowledge of the exam.at the it is you who has to everything in order to reach success.

SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR IFS EXAM:-

Candidates will have to undergo all the three stages of the selection process including Competitive written examination, Medical Test and Personal Interview Test.
Eligible candidates will have to clear in the first stage of the selection process for going into the second stage and so on.
Only successful candidates of all these three stages will be considered at the time of making final selections.

For IFS exam preparation two science optionals subject are choosen while filling application form,these subjects must be one had studied during his or her graduation days or had keen interest and books too ,then following the syllabus throughout one shold solve last years papers from unsolved books ,english language compulsory paper and gs paper are compulsory papers which carry 300 marks each ,where as each subject paper carry 200 marks,thus six papers of 1400 marks ,one can easily make out that more time should be given on compulsory papers!

paper2-general knowledge-300 marks
paper 3/4/5/6- any 2optional subjects from the following- 200 marks

go through previous years question papers and solve as many problems as you can

well while you are preparing for indian forest service exam, please study above mentioned subjects thoroughly as well as remaining subjects already known.two optional science subjects, language, general studies.these are known subjects.plan your day perfectly and work out these,for gs read news papers daily and update your knowledge from that .all the best
