if you want to apply for ima or indian military academy then you have to go through the central defense service examination. The cds is conducted for job in ima, ota and na.

the required qualification for cds is given below


candidate should be graduate or a final year appearing student from a recognized university.
The age limit is 19 to 24 years
candidate should be an indian


the syllabus for cds is as follows

the general knowledge
english
elementary math
history


the important date for application


date of notification 02-06-2012
last date for application 02-07-2012
exam date 16-09-2012

to join IMA you can apply for CDSE & NDA
Eligibility for NDA:
- You are eligible for NDA after 10+2 exam.
-Min age required is 19 years.
-only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
-candidates appearing in 12th class can also apply.
- Age : From 19 Years to 24 years. Engineer graduates 20 to 27 years
- Degree. BA, B.Sc or B.Tech/BE

Eligibility for CDSE:

1. For IMA : 19 to 24 Years
   For OTA : 19 to 25 years
   For Naval : 19 to 22 years
   For Air Force : 19 to 23 years.
2. The selection process consists of a written exam and personality test by the Service Selection Board. After the final selection, you are sent to one of the following institutes for orientation training as per your Preference at the time of filling the application form.
3. The examination is Objective and there are 3 papers in Air Force Academy Examination:
   >> English
   >> General Knowledge
   >> Elementary Mathematics

hai friend ,

the eligibility criteria for the TES entry scheme is PCM cutoff marks above 80% for IMA . if you are eligible you will receive a call letter for your SSB .
from my personal experience clearing the SSB is a easy process and depends upon your communication skills . the shortlisted candidates will be put for medical board and success full candidates will be put for AIR (all india ranking) and finally receive the joining instructions for direct commission into army .
