    Am I eligible to become an IAS officer after completing B.A (English, Hindi) and currently studying M.A (English) in Correspondence? I am a 26 years old married female. Fluent in Hindi, English and Tamil.

    Hai, i am kanimoly... My dream is to become ias officer .. I completed b.a eng & hindi, & currently studying m.a eng in correspondence... Fluent in hindi, english & tamil... My age is 26 & i am married ..so i need to know that am i eligible to do ias

    It is nice that you want to join IAS exam in Future. You are now doing M.A with English in Correspondence. IAS exam requires graduation degree from a recognized university.

    Therefore there is not requirement for PG course.

    Your age lies in between 21-30 years.

    General age limit for IAS exam is 21-30 years.

    Age relaxation;---

    3 years age relaxation for OBC category
    5 years age relaxation for SC/ST category
    10 years for PH candidates

    Number Of Attempts;-

    4 times for General category Candidates

    7 times for OBC candidates

    No limit for SC/ST category

    Exam pattern;-

    Paper I - (200 marks) Duration: Two hours

    � Current events of national and international importance

    � History of India and Indian National Movement

    � Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World.

    � Indian Polity and Governance � Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.

    � Economic and Social Development � Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.

    � General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization

    � General Science

    Paper II- (200 marks) Duration: Two hours

    � Comprehension

    � Interpersonal skills including communication skills;

    � Logical reasoning and analytical ability

    � Decision making and problem solving

    � General mental ability

    English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level)

    Civil services Mains exam pattern changed from this year.

    2 General Studies Papers and 4 optional subjects papers (2 each)

    These 6 papers constitute 1800 marks (300 by 6)

    There is an Essay Paper and Personal Interview as well of 200 and 300 marks each, which amounts to 2300 marks

    Dear nice to see your interest in becoming IAS Officer in your life and this is your target so I am sure that you will not take a long time to become an IAS Officer and as you have mentioned that you have completed BA in Hindi and English Literature and also fluent in both languages including Tamil so there is very good chance for you and according to your mentioned qualification and age, you are eligible to apply for UPSC civil service examination because UPSC board requires only a bachelor's degree in any discipline and age should be between 21-30 years to apply for this examination and provides relaxation in upper age as per government standards that is 5 year for SC/ST and 3 year for OBC category candidates so you may also claim for upper age relaxation after completing 30 years of age but you will get your target before generating this situation

    Examination Pattern for UPSC Civli Service Examination : There will be following stages in this exam

    Preliminary Examination : Two papers in objective type pattern and each paper contains 200 marks and qualifying in this prelims exam is compulsory to be eligible for mains examination

    Mains Examination : There will be following papers conducted in this examination and all papers will be conducted in conventional/descriptive type pattern

    Yes, of course you are eligible for IAS. IAS stands for Indian Administrative service. UPSC conduct the civil service exams for IAS post once in every year.

    Eligibility For apply IAS exam:

    1.Educational Qualification: Hold a Bachelor degree in any stream
    2.Age Limit: Not less than 21 year & not more than 30 year of the year of examination.

    you are eligible to become IAS officer
    as qualification for IAS are:
    1. graduate degree from any recognized university.
    2. age 21 - 30 years(general candidates)
    3.should be citizen of India.

    If you have done your graduation with 54% min. marks.
    And your age is in between
    21 to 30.
    Then you can apply for the exma .
    Just gohead and do it.
