dear Friend,
as you said you are currently in class 12th. and i will inform you that before graduation you can't apply for IAS post. for IAS you have to write Civil Services exam. and for Civil Services you need graduation degree in any discipline from recognized college or university with any percentage.
Civil Services exam is conducted by UPSC every year.
your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the year of exam. There is also available relaxation in upper age limit according to government norms as 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Civil Services exam is conducted in three phases and you have to clear all the phases to become an IAS officer.
The three phases are CSAT(Prelims), Mains and Interview
there is also applicable limit of number of attempts like 4 for General, 7 for OBC and there is no limit of number of attempts for SC/ST candidates.
So from the upper criteria it is clear that you have almost 3 to 4 years left to apply for exam. and i will advice you to concentrate on your core subjects like History, Geography and Public Administration. and you will need to increase your communication skills and aptitude. for reference you can follow NCERT books. and i suggest you to increase your GK and GS.
Good Luck......
