should prepare it through your self. You should follow the following things.
1. Follow the different study material of different institute

4. You can also download study material online

You can do preparation for the examination in any corner of the country. If you are in KolKata then you can join the good institute for the preparation. Or you can do the preparation in your home also.
First of all you have to go through the Question Pattern for which exam you want to appear. You can download and print Previous Years Question Papers at www.upsc.gov.in
NCERT books are best for the basic knowledge because it covers full syllabus of UPSC.
