if you want to join as a indian revenue officer ,you need to crack the civil service exam conducts by upsc every year once in 2 part
1)preliminary test
2)civil service main exam
eligibility criteria=
age limit=21-30 years
relaxation age of 5 years to sc/st/ex-service men
of 3 years to obc
of 10 years to physically challenged
educational qualification=any bachelor degree or post graduate
must have cleared all subjects
medically fit and fine'
must be indian
civil service exam 2013 notification=
*preliminary test=26-05-2013
*main exam date=1-12-2013
***candidate who passed the preliminary test,are only send for main exam
***short listed candidate would be called for interview

you can become IRS(Indian Revenue Service) officer through UPSC Civil Services Exam. Civil Services Exam is conducted by UPSC every year.
Eligibility Criteria For Civil Services:
>>you must have completed or appearing in final year of graduation in any discipline from recognized college or university.
>>your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the year of exam. there is relaxation in upper age limit up to 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Limit Number Of Attempts:
>>General category: 4 attempts
>>OBC category: 7 attempts
>>SC/ST category: No Limit
