    There are limit on the number of attempts for IAS Exam.

    The limits are different for the candidates of different categories.

    For General candidates : Maximum of 4 times

    For OBC candidates : Maximum of 7 times

    For SC or ST category candidates : No limit on the number of attempts.

    More over, you should complete Graduation to apply for this exam.

    Number of attempts are as:

    1. general candidates - 4 attempts.
    age limit is 21 - 30 years.

    2. OBC candidate - 7 attempts.
    age limit is 21 - 33 years.

    3. SC/ST candidates - no limits.
    age limit is 21 - 35 years.

    IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service. UPSC will hold the IAS exam once a year.

    Eligibility for IAS:

    Education qualification:

    You have to complete the Graduation from any recognized university.
    And you have to secure the 50% of marks from any recognized university.

    Age qualification:
    Your age should be 21-30 years.The upper age limit will be applicable for ST/Sc/OBC candidates.
    3 years for OBC
    5 years for ST/SC
    You must be citizen from India.

    No.of attempts:


    4 for General
    7 for OBC
    No limit for ST/Sc candidates.

    Student belonging to Open Category can attempt a maximum of 4 times.

    IAS comes under civil services .

    Number of attempts for civil services examination :

    GEN : 4
    BC : 7
    SC/ST : No Limit

    number of attempts permitted for general category candidate is four
    number of attempts permitted for OBC candidate is seven
    but there is no restriction based on number of attempts for sc/st candidates

    well for IAS exams there is a restriction for general and other backward castes...
    but no restrictions are with the scheduled castes and tribes


    age limits
    >>gen--21 yrs to 30 yrs
    >>obc--21 yrs to 33 yrs
    >>sc/st--21 yrs to 35 yrs

    you must be a passed graduate from a recognized university in any discipline whatsoever....

    Here I am giving all the criteria for the applying to the IAS exam along with the number of attempts...
    1. Candidate should have completed graduation or engineering from a college under a recognized university.
    2. Candidate appearing in final year can also apply for the upsc exam.
    3. Age limit for upsc exam is 21 to 30 years.
    4. Candidate belonging to OBC and SC/ST category gets an age relaxation of 3 and 5 years respectively.

    And the number of attempts are as follows::::::
    ::4 attempts for general category
    ::7 attempts for OBC category
    ::no limit for SC/ST category

    IAS Exam or officially called Civil Services Exam is commenced by UPSC every year.

    There is restrictions for the no. of times you can appear for Civil Services Exam.

    For General: 3

    For OBC: 7

    For SC/ST: No Restriction

    And also, there is Age Limit defined for each category:

    For General: 21 to 30 years

    For OBC: 21 to 33 years

    For SC/ST: 21 to 35 years

    You will have to clear following three stages to qualify Civil Services Exam:

    >> Preliminary Exam (CSAT Exam)

    >> Mains Exam

    >> Personal Interview

    There is a limited number of times, one can appear UPSC exam:

    1.For General candidate - 4 times.

    2.For - OBC 7 times

    3.for Physical handicapped - 7 Times

    IAS comes under civil services,for that you apply for civil services examination.
    Which is conducts by upsc once in every year.

    general can give four attempts
    obc can give seven attempts
    no limit for sc and st
