    Re: How should I get prepared for UPSC Current affairs questions?

    Current Affairs is one of the most popular and common subject in various competitive exams as ICS, Banking Exams, Staff Selection Commission, LIC Exams, Railway recruitment exams, Technical Field exams other competitive exams related to professional education as - GATE, CAT, MAT etc. and recruitment of various central government posts in various bodies as - DRDO, ISRO, BHEL, NTPC, IOCL, BPCL etc. because every sector wants that the employee should be proficient in about current situation of India and world and if he/she will have enough knowledge about this subject then will be aware about various changes in future so that is why this subject has became compulsory in all competitive exams and if you cover this then you can easily score good marks in General Studies Section because most of the state public service commission boards also has made this as necessary part of prelims examination so think about the importance of this subject and prepare well

    Before preparing for current affairs section, you should list out all topics that are asked in examination and I have listed some most common topics asked in various exams under current affairs section :

    * International Economy
    * Indian Economy
    * Books and Their Authors
    * Current Events with National and International Events
    * Sports - National and International
    * Summits and Meetings of National and International level
    * BRICS, ASIAN, SAARC, NATO, NAM, G-8, G-20 etc.
    * All Ministries of India - Changes done in past 1 year
    * Inventions in various institutes as centers of research as - ICAR/ IARI/ NDRI/ ISRO/ DRDO etc.
    * Defense Sector - Newly Launched weapons and Missiles in detail
    * Name of Important people of international level as - Name of President and PM of countries, Head or CMDs of various bodies of government and private etc.
    * Major Highlighted Issues in the world
    * Current News and Issues about - Agriculture/ Banking/ Finance/ Share Market/ Investment etc.
    * Currency and Monetary Policy of RBI and Indian Rupee on world level USD etc.

    So there are so many topics asked in this section and if you want to get good command over this section then you should follow these mentioned tips :

    * Start reading news paper of national and local level and prefer The Hindu on the place of all other papers because this is the best and preferred by all IAS aspirants and give at least 1 hour everyday to read both news papers and whenever you see any important topic related to above mentioned topics then you should note that down instantly in your note book means you have to make a separate notebook for current affairs

    * Buy Monthly and Yearly magazines of Current Affairs and General Awareness and keep them reading continuously without stopping in between of your preparation and note down some major topics in your notebook from those magazines and you can prefer following magazines :

    Civil Service Today
    Chronicle - Monthly and Yearly Magazine for Current Affairs
    Competition Wizard for IAS
    Kurukhestra
    Yojna
    Frontline
    Pratiyogita Darpan
    Arihant Publication - Monthly Current Affairs
    The Hindu - Daily News paper
    Economic Times - Daily News Paper

    * Keep every magazine and book safe for revision because revision is most mandatory to be expert in current affairs section and decide your time to study for this subject and if you give at least 2 hour everyday by using these guides and revise everyday then you do not need to do anything else

    * Keep in touch with news channels on TV and Radio and take some time to get news of the day everyday and give about 30 minutes everyday for this and be scheduled as you have started with revision of every single topic

    * Join any good practice class for current affairs section and participate in practice test and see all questions that are being asked in examination or test then check your level what you have studies for competition so you may include some news things by practicing under institute and until you do not solve more than 90% questions in test you should not stop and keep study continue

    All the best
