just increase your basic english, math, GK, GA, reasoning. And by not going any author book you just go for class 6th to class 10th book of CBSE.

Prelims have no opional subjects.

it has 2 papers of 200 marks & 2 hrs each.

PAPER I GENERAL STUDIES
PAPER II ENGLISH,REASONING,APTITUDE

refer R.S.AGARWAL for REASONING & QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE
refer NCERT book for ENGLISH
refer MANORAMA YEAR BOOK, INDIA YEAR BOOK, UPSC PORTAL GENERAL STUDIES, MADE EASY PUBLICATIONS, SURA PUBLICATIONS for GS.

study 10 - 12 hrs/day.
solve many question papers.
