>> The SCRA examinations stand for the SPECIAL CLASS RAILWAY APPRENTICE Exams.
>> These examinations are conducted annually by the UPSC,priory in the month of January.
The notifications for the same are released by the third week of October.In fact,the form filling dates are still out.

Yes you are eligible for SCRA 2013 exam. Because you are not cross the above age limit that is 21 year.

Eligibility criteria is

candidate Should have passed 12th with one compulsory subject maths.

candidate who are appearing their 12th exam are also eligible for SCRA 2013

Age criteria is

candidate must be in between 17 to 21 year

Hello,
After clearing the SCRA exam canidates are enrolled as a mechanical engineer in Birla Institute Of Technology, Mesra (Ranchi).
Canidates have to complete the engineering from there and they are also given a stipend per month for their expenditure as follows:
Rs 9100 for 1st and 2nd year
Rs 9400 for 3rd year and first 6 months of 4th year
Rs 9700 for last 6 months of 4th year
After the completion candidate will be appointed on probation for 18 months in Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers in Officer grade.
And it will continue based on candidate performance..

The SCRA exam is basically the one for the recruitment of the candidates for the future group A officers in the Indian railways.

The exam is a two stage,the entrance SCRA and then the interview ,if you clear both the stages then you will go to study the mechanical engineering at the Indian Institute of Railways and Electrical Engineering,situated at Jamalpur.

After you have finished the course you will be appointed as the group A officer in the railways.
