civil services exam consists three stages;-

*-**-*preliminary exam

*-*-*-mains exam

*-*-interview


cs preliminary exam;-

notification of exam;-november/de

exam date-may month

age limit is 21-30 years.

Age relaxation is given to reserved category students.

educational quantification;-

**-graduate from a recognized university.

This exam contains two paper in your defined language.

Paper 1-general studies-200 marks

paper-2-general studies-200 marks

cs mains exam;-

tentative date of examination-october-nov

this exam consists nine paper.

Paper 1-your choosing language paper-300 marks

paper 2-english (qualified marks)-300 marks

paper 3-essay-200 marks

paper 4 of general studies-300 marks

paper 5 -general studies-300 marks


paper 6,7,8 and 9 consists optional subject paper , each contains 200 marks.

Total marks-2000 marks.

After that you will be called fore interview.

Interview-300 marks.

GENERAL PROCEDURE TO APPLY FOR CIVIL SERVICES RECRUITMENT:

- First register your account on www.upsc.gov.in
- Then check out the advertisement on official website of upsc
- Check out the eligibility criteria and qualification
- Log on to your account then fill the all details
- Then take a print out the challen then pay fees or deposit fee in respective bank
- Log on to your account on upsc website
- Add your bank challen number to upsc site
- lastly submit, wait for reply

Presently Civil Services Examination is conducted in two stages.
1. Civil Services Preliminary Examination or Civil Services Aptitude Test(CSAT).
questions are asked from General studies (History, Geography, Politics, Economics and social development, General Science)
English and Mathematical Aptitude etc.

2. Main Exam and Interview.
If you qualify Preliminary exam then only you can appear Main exam and on the basis
of Main exam score you could be called for Personal Interview.
The final merit list is prepared by adding the score of Main Exam and Personal Interview.

The Main examination has these papers.
1. Indian Language Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
2. English Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
3. General Essay type paper (200 marks)
4. General Studies (Paper-I & II 300 marks each)
5. Optional subject-I(Paper-I & II 300 marks each)
6. Optional subject-II(Paper-I&II 300 marks each)
