    UPSC conducts following technical exams
    1) GEologists exam
    for selecting people for geologist post in geological survey of India and for hydro-geologist post in central ground water board.
    people who have master's degree in geology,hydro- geology or related subjects are eligible to apply
    2) Indian Engineering service exam
    for selecting mechanical,civil, electrical and electronics Engineers in different govt. departments
    All Engineering graduates are eligible to apply
    3) Combined medical services exam
    for recruiting people for medical officer posts
    ALL MBBS graduates are eligible to apply
    4) Indian Economic service/Indian statistical service
    people with post graduate degree in economics/statistics can apply
    These are the exams which are conducted by UPSC every year for technical people.

    UPSc also conducts exams like civil service exam, central police forces exam for which all graduates are eligible to apply.

    Hi,

    There is only one examination for technical category conducted by UPSC.
    That is Engineering Services Examination. It is conducted every year.
    The eligibility criteria & the other details of the exam is given below:
    Eligibility:
    AGE � 21 � 30 YEARS as on the 1st august of the year of the examination.
    Certain categories of persons including departmental candidates are eligible for age relaxation.
    EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: A degree in Engineering from a recognised university or equivalent. M.Sc degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects also acceptable for certain Services/posts only.
    Candidates appearing at their engineering degree or equivalent examination are also eligible to compete. Candidates qualifying on the result of the written part of the Examination will be required to submit the proof of passing the requisite examination along with their detailed application form to be filled up at that stage.
    The entrance for Indian Engineering Service comprises of a Written Exam (section I and II) and an Interview. The details follow:
    One Engineering Discipline should be chosen from the following categories:
    Civil Engineering
    Mechanical Engineering
    Electrical Engineering
    Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
    The written examination will comprise two sections:
    Section I - objective types questions
    Section II � conventional (essay) type questions papers.
    Both Sections will cover the entire syllabus of the relevant engineering subject.

    Part A � General English
    Part B � General Studies

    Total 1000

    Interview: Interview for Personality test of selected candidates: 200marks

    upsc conducts only one exam which is technical exam.

    IES(INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE)

    TO JOIN THIS EXAM;-
    ****you must be passed b.tech in the following branch;-
    civil
    mechanical
    electrical
    electronics and telecommunication

    ***age limit is 21-30 years.
    ***you must be Indian citizen.
