Re: Is it true that I am not eligible for UPSC exams being an IT engineer? First of All WHO SAYS THAT YOU CAN'T APPEAR IN IES EXAMINATION. ABSOLUTELY YOU CAN APPEAR IN IES EXAM. FIRST OF ALL I HAVE TO CLEAR YOU THAT YOU CAN APPEAR IN IES EXAM. FOR THIS YOU HAVE TO CLICK THIS LINK http://www.upsc.gov.in/general/faq.htm THIS LINK IS THE UPSC WEBSITE LINK THAT IN THE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION SECTION YOU CAN SEE THE REAL FACTOR. IN THAT SECTION IT IS ASKED THAT WHICH TYPE OF ENGINEERING STUDENT CAN FILL UP THE FORM OF IES. AND THE ANSWER IS WRITTEN BY UPSC THAT A candidate possessing a degree in Engineering in any discipline is eligible. NOW IF YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT IAS AND ETHICAL HACKER POST THEN IAS HAS MONEY WITH POWER. THINK YOU CAN GET MORE MONEY WITH A POWER OF ADMINISTRATION. For IAS/IPS exams you can get the job of Indian Administrative Service like DC Deputy Collector or DM deputy Magistrate and for IPS you can get Superintendent Of Police i.e. SP etc. SO, YOU SHOULD THINK FIRST OF ALL YOUR OWN INTEREST FOR JOB.
