This is not true.An IT engineer an also opt for UPSC exam without any restriction but you have to work hard for clearing this exam.In today's scenario if you are going for any interview in any of the company you have to clear an aptitude test ,you have to be very strong and very time conscious for your exam .if you are preparing for an aptitude test for clearing an interview it also helps you somewhere in clearing your UPSC exam. If you have done your engineering degree from IT trade then you are not eligible for only IES (INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES).
