geology is concerned about evolution of the earth and its natural mineral and energy resources.
The Geologist exam is conducted by UPSC for the post of Geologists.
The Geologist exam can be classified into 2 categories namely as:
Category I:
Post of Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Coal and Mines
Category II:
Post of Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources
For writing the Geologist exam you must satisfy certain eligibility criteria's and they may include:
>> Candidates who are applying for this exam must be a citizen of India.
>> Candidates must have a age limit of 21-32 years.
>> Candidates must have any of these education qualification:
1. Master's degree in Geology /Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognized university
(OR)
2. Diploma of Associateship in Applied Geology of Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad
(OR)
3. Master's degree in Mineral exploration from a recognized university
(OR)
4. Master's degree in Hydrogeology from a recognised university
>> Candidates appearing for the exam must be physically fit as per regarding the physical standards.
If you satisfy the above criteria's then you can apply for the Geologist exam.
Pattern for the Geologist Exam:
General English - 100 Marks
Geology Paper-I - 200 Marks
Geology Paper-II - 200 Marks
Geology Paper-III - 200 Marks
Hydrogeology - 200 Marks
