If you join defence services then friestly you comlete 12 with PCM subject.
After then you give the NDA exam (which exam conduct bu the UPSC) .
If you selected then you eligible for the interview.
If you pass the interview then you selected by the NDA and your Carrier makes in the Defence services.

you can join Defence services through UPSC exams in two ways

1. NDA
2. CDS

NDA exam is conducted for intermediate students and CDS exam

is conduct for Graduate Students.

1. NDA

NDA stands for National Defence Services. The exam is

conducted by UPSC two times in a year.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. 12th with Math and Physics

2. your age must be within 16.5 years to 19 years

2. CDS:

CDS stands for Combined Defence Services Exam. The exam is

conducted by UPSC two times in a year. it is conducted for

Graduates.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

• For IAF and INA: B.Sc with Math and Physics or Engineering degree

Age Limit:

• for INA: 19 years to 22 years
• for IAF: 19 years to 23 years
• for IMA: 19 years to 24 years
• for OTA: 19 years to 25 years

You can join the Defence Services by appearing for following UPSC exams ;
1.At the Undergraduates Level-You can apply to UPSC NDA & NA Exam to join the army,airforce and navy wing of the Defence Services.

Eligibility For NDA & NA Exams :

Age Limit :
Unmarried Indian Males in the age group 16.5-19yrs can apply.

No relaxation of age limit for any category of candidates.

Educational Qualification :
Army-12th Pass from a recognised Board/Equivalent.
Airforce-12th Science with Physics and/or Maths from a recognised Board or Equivalent.
Navay-12th Science with Physics and Maths from a recognised Board or Equivalent.

2.At the Graduates Level-You can apply to UPSC CDS Exams to join the Defence Services.
UPSC conducts the Combined Defence Services(CDS) Exam twice a year.
Recruitments are made to the Naval Academy,Airforce Academy,Indian Military Academy(IMA) and Officers Training Academy(OTA).

Eligibility For CDS Exams :Age Limit :OTA-19-25yrs

You can join defense services through UPSC through two ways
~NDA
~CDSE.

NDA-stands for National Defense Academy a entrance through which candidates are selected for the all three sections of army air force,navy and army.
The criteria for applying in the NDA is

~Educational Qualification-10+2 with physics and maths for air force,navy and with any stream for army.
~Age limit-16.5 to 19 years.
~Only Unmarried male candidates are applicable.

The NDA is conducted twice in a year.

CDSE-stands for Combined Defense Service Examination which is a entrance conducted by UPSC for entry in to the four different categories of defense.

~IMA-Indian Military Academy
Educational qualification-graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university.
Age limit-19 to 24 years.

~OTA-Officers' Training Academy.
Educational Qualification-graduation from any stream from any recognized university.
Age limit-19 to 25 years.

~NA-Naval Academy.
Educational Qualification-B.sc with physics and maths or B.tech
Age limit-19 to 22 years.

~AFA-Air Force Academy.
Educational Qualification-graduation degree in any stream but physics and maths in 10+2 or B.tech
Age limit-19 to 23 years.

UPSC conduct two exam for Defence sector.

NDA and CDS

NDA stands for National Defense Academy

CDS stands for Combined defense services

Both the exam NDA and CDS is conducted by UPSC twice in a year. If you are 12th passed student then NDA is the best exam but If you complete graduation then you can go with CDS exam.
The eligibility criteria of both exam are different which is

Eligibility Criteria For NDA
Only male and Unmarried Candidate are eligible.
girls are not allowed.
age must be in between 16.5-19 years.
candidate must be passed/appeared in 12th with a govt. recognized university


Eligibility Criteria For CDS is

candidate should be completed graduation with subject MATHS and PHYSICS,
candidate who are appearing final year exam are also eligible
