UPSC conduct two exam for Defence sector.
NDA and CDS
NDA stands for National Defense Academy
CDS stands for Combined defense services
Both the exam NDA and CDS is conducted by UPSC twice in a year. If you are 12th passed student then NDA is the best exam but If you complete graduation then you can go with CDS exam.
The eligibility criteria of both exam are different which is

Only male and Unmarried Candidate are eligible.

candidate must be passed/appeared in 12th with a govt. recognized university

~NDA
~CDSE.
NDA-stands for National Defense Academy a entrance through which candidates are selected for the all three sections of army air force,navy and army.
The criteria for applying in the NDA is
~Educational Qualification-10+2 with physics and maths for air force,navy and with any stream for army.
~Age limit-16.5 to 19 years.
~Only Unmarried male candidates are applicable.
The NDA is conducted twice in a year.
CDSE-stands for Combined Defense Service Examination which is a entrance conducted by UPSC for entry in to the four different categories of defense.
~IMA-Indian Military Academy
Educational qualification-graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university.
Age limit-19 to 24 years.
~OTA-Officers' Training Academy.
Educational Qualification-graduation from any stream from any recognized university.
Age limit-19 to 25 years.
~NA-Naval Academy.
Educational Qualification-B.sc with physics and maths or B.tech
Age limit-19 to 22 years.
~AFA-Air Force Academy.
