Yes definately you can apply for this examination because you have a engineering degree .Age of this exam not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years.And relaxation for backward caste is upto 3 years and for schedule caste is upto 5 years.For this exam candidates must be India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
Written exam consist six paper and each is 200 marks.Notification of this exam will come in Feb/March and examination conduct in the month of July.

Indian Forest Services exam 2013 : Candidate should have a bachelor's degree in any one of the following disciplines/subjects

Agriculture
Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
Botany
Agriculture Engineering
Chemistry
Chemical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Forestry
Geology
Mathematics
Mechanical Engineering
Physics
Statistics
Zoology

If you have completed your bachelor's degree with any one of the above mentioned subjects then you are eligible otherwise if you have specialization in Information Technology and other subjects as Computer etc. then you can not apply for Indian Forest Service Exam

Age Should 21 - 30 years.


Relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD and 5 years for Ex-Servicemen

UPSC board did not declare the dates for IFoS exam but it would be announced soon at www.upsc.gov.in

If you can not apply for Indian Forest Service Exam then you should prepare for IAS - Indian Administrative Service exam or Indian police Service exam and try to get qualified and get the job.

Dear friend , in the UPSC exam only complete greduation with any stream.

And you complete your greduation so you are eligible for the INDIAN FOREST SERVICES exam.

And other qulification for age fector is
For gen. 21 to 30 year

For obc - 21 to 33 year
For sc/st - 21 to 35 year

Yes definitely you can apply for IFS Exam after completing B.Tech in IT. You just need to satisfy basic eligibility criteria to appear for the exam.

The basic eligibility criteria for IFS Exam are as follows:
Educational Qualification
The candidate must graduate from any recognized university with at least one of the fourteen subjects given below:
Agriculture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary science,
Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Botany, Zoology,
Agricultural engineering, Chemical engineering, Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering.
Final year degree students are also eligible

Age limit
General 21-30 yrs
SC/ST 21-35 yrs

YES YOU CAN APPLY FOR THE INDIAN FOREST SERVICES BEING A ENGINEERING GRADUATE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.

IFS is a civil service exam and in most of the civil services the minimum educational qualification is graduation,and that too from any stream.
Basically you must know that the most of the civil services have no issue regarding the stream,only they want is the graduation degree.

So as you have the graduation degree or will become a graduate,you are fully eligible for the IFS.

You must go through the eligibility criteria for applying in the IFS

~Educational Qualification-graduation from any university and from any recognized university.
~Age limit-21 to 30 years for General candidate.
3 and 5 years of upper age relaxation for the OBC and the SC/ST.
~Number of attempts-4 for General candidate.
7-OBC,unlimited-SC/ST.

Hence you see that the stream is never a issue,you just have to be graduate in order to apply.

completing B.Tech in IT. you can also apply for UPSC IFS exam

while appearing in final year of your B.Tech.

Eligibility Criteria For IFS:


The candidate must hold a Bachelor�s degree with at least one of the

subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany,

Chemistry, Geology,Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or

a Bachelor�s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering from

recognized University.



AGE LIMIT:

The eligibility criteria says "Graduation in ANY stream from a recognized university.". So, you can very well apply for IFoS exam. You need to check other eligibility criteria. If you have already checked them, then you can go ahead.
