The eligibility criteria says "Graduation in ANY stream from a recognized university.". So, you can very well apply for IFoS exam. You need to check other eligibility criteria. If you have already checked them, then you can go ahead.

IFS is a civil service exam and in most of the civil services the minimum educational qualification is graduation,and that too from any stream.
Basically you must know that the most of the civil services have no issue regarding the stream,only they want is the graduation degree.
So as you have the graduation degree or will become a graduate,you are fully eligible for the IFS.
You must go through the eligibility criteria for applying in the IFS
~Educational Qualification-graduation from any university and from any recognized university.
~Age limit-21 to 30 years for General candidate.
3 and 5 years of upper age relaxation for the OBC and the SC/ST.
~Number of attempts-4 for General candidate.
7-OBC,unlimited-SC/ST.

Yes definately you can apply for this examination because you have a engineering degree .Age of this exam not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years.And relaxation for backward caste is upto 3 years and for schedule caste is upto 5 years.For this exam candidates must be India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
Written exam consist six paper and each is 200 marks.Notification of this exam will come in Feb/March and examination conduct in the month of July.
