my dear friend it is not the IAS exam only, it is known as the civil services examination, which is conducted by the upsc (union public service commission) once in an year.
For giving this exam, the eligibility is that you need to be a graduate in any stream from a recognized indian university and your age should be in between 21-30 years.
There is a relaxation of 3 and 5 years given to the obc and the sc/st candidates respectively.

• IAS refers to the Indian Administrative service who are in charge of the various public sector corporations. All the department in a country is headed by minister which in turn is taken care by the IAS officers.

• There are various posts available the higher post which a IAS officer can get is chief secretary of a state. Other posts include collector, divisional officer, developmental officer etc.

• Officers are appointed by the central government in the ratio of one outside state aspirant to two insider . So that more preference is given to the aspirant belonging to a particular state.

• The exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission which is in charge of filling up the various vacancies available in the central governmment.

• The eligibility criteria for that being bachelor degree from any discipline and also the aspirant must have completed 21 years of age.

An IAS examination is Indian Administrative Service. UPSC conducts it every year. Bachelor degree or Graduate in any discipline is the eligibility criteria.

if you want to become a civil servant then people give ias exam. its exam is very tough so to clear it i suggest to coaching from any upsc institutes . this exam is conducted by upsc. eligibility- 1 any degree course from any recognized university 2 students who had compleated their degree coarse or appearing both can take part in this exam 3 age should be between 21-30 years 4 there is age relaxation for sc/st and other backward classes for sc/st-5 year relaxation for other backword classes-3 years for domiciled candidates-5 year relaxation 5 candidate should be an indian citizen

The Indian Administrative Service (abbreviated as IAS) is the administrative civil service of theGovernment of India. It is one of the three All India Services. The officers of the IAS play a major role in managing the bureaucracy of both the Union Government and the State governments, with its members holding strategic posts across the country. The examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. Repeated attempts are allowed up to four times for General Merit candidates, seven times for OBC candidates. There is no bar on the number of attempts for SC/ST candidates. The upper age limit to attempt the examination is 35 for SC/ST and 30 years for the General Merit Candidate.

Eligibility of the candidate for the exam:

• A degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educatsional institutions .
• Candidates who have appeared or intend to appear for the qualifying examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear for the Preliminary Examination. All such candidates who qualify to appear for the Civil Services Main Examination must produce proof of having passed the said examination along with their application for the Main Examination.

If you are so interested for IAS,after being Engineers, Doctors, or Ph.d you can sit IAS exam conducted by UPSC.

2) Optional paper which carries 150 marks.

The General Studies paper and one Optional paper both the papers are the compulsory paper.

IAS means Indian Administrative Service. It will be conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). Once in a year this type of exam will be conducted. Any degree from any recognized university by UGC is the Educational qualification of this exam. It will be conducted in three parts. First one is premilinary exam, second one is Main exam and another one is personal interview

IAS-Indian administrative service.it is probably one of the toughest exam to crack in india.Clearing the IAS Exam is the only way to become a member of the prestigious Indian Civil Services, of which the IAS is the most sought after service.
The other services you could get on clearing the IAS Examination include the IPS, IRS, IRTS, IRPS, and many more.

Eligibility:
age limit-21-30
You can appear for the IAS exam a maximum of 4 times until the age of 30.
There is no maximum educational qualification required for the IAS exam and plain graduates and PhD's all compete on the same level.

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC.
The eligibility criteria for IAS examination (better known as Civil Services Examination) as follows;
Age Limit:
21-30 years(GEN)
21-33 years(OBC)
21-35 years(SC/ST/PD)

Educational Qualification:
One is required to have a graduation degree(or equivalent) in any stream from a
Govt. of Indian recognized university
(governmental or private college which is approved by UGC or AICTE or any other
governmental organization).

The pattern of Examination is as follow;
1. Civil Services Preliminary Exam(Objective), which is now known as CSAT.
This paper is same for candidates of all stream. A sample paper of CSAT
(Source: UPSC) is attached with this message.
2. Civil Services Main Exam and Interview.
Candidates who qualify Prelims are called for MAIN exam and on the basis
of their score in MAIN, candidates are called for Interview.
The total marks of MAIN exam and Interview is added to announce final result.
The MAIN exam contains following papers.
- 1 Essay type Indian Language Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
- 1 English Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
- 1 General Essay type paper (200 marks)
- 2 General Studies papers (300 marks each)
- 4 Optional subjects papers (300 marks each). You have to select two
subjects from the listed subjects. There will be two papers from each
subject and full marks of each will be of 300 marks.

The full marks of Interview will be 300 marks.

IAS(Indian Administrative Service) or UPSC exam is the most prestigious and most difficult exam in our country.The exam is conducted by central Government through out the country.Preliminary exam is held in one day usually in the month of May or June.And if selected candidates are allowed to appear for mains exam usually held in october.
Eligibility criteria 1) Age between 21 yrs to 30 yrs[relaxation of age limit in case of SC,ST,OBC]
2) Candidate should graduate from a Government recognized university.
