yes friend you can apply for the civil service exam after master course in social work.

The minimum age criteria to apply for the civil service exam is 21 to 30 years and age relaxation is also available as per government rules

SC/ST 21 to 35 years

OBC + 21 to 33 years


You should have bachelor degree in any discipline from recognized university or its equivalent.

Hello Dear,

I think you want to know abut civil services exam detail.Civil services exam is conducted by UPSC once in every year.
there are three stage of exam
prelim exam
main exam
interview
prelim exam are the basic exam which is held in the month of may in every year.
mains exam are the exam on 2nd stage only those candidate can give this exam who clear prelim exam in that year.
next and last stage is interview stage. for interview only those candidate are eligible who clear the above two stage in that year.

Some eligibility criteria is
candidate should be graduate from a recognized university in any stream, final year candidate can also appear this exam
(marks or percentage doesn't matter)

Age of the candidate 21 to 30 year, 3 year relaxation for OBC and 5 year for SC/ST candidate.
candidate should be Indian.

First of all let me tell you that UPSC stands for the Union Public Service Commission an it is a examination body .UPSC conducts lots of examination every year.

Now coming to your eligibility towards UPSC exams .UPSC conducts large no of examinations every year.Here is some of them:

1.Civil services examinations

2.Combined defence services

3.Central Police force examinations

4.Indian Forest services examinations

5.Geologists exam

6.Indian Economic services

7.National Defence services examinations

8.Special class railway apprentice examinations


Most of the UPSC exams are bachelor's degree based ,only some of the UPSC exams are 10+2 based that is NDA and SCRA exams.

Since you have done your master's degree ,you are eligible in terms of academic qualification for some of the UPSC examinations.The best suitable exam for you will be Civil services examinations .For this your age should be between 21-30 years.If you belong to either Obc and SC/st then you will be given age relaxation of three and five years respectively.

upsc (union public service commission)is the main head which conduct various examination as per the qualification of the aspirants.so civil service exam is one those exam held by upsc

-civil service exam includes IAS,IPS,IFS etc.
civil service exam=
1)preliminary exam
2)civl service main exam=those who clear preliminary exam are only allowed to appear for main exam

Dear Aspirant...

You must be graduate and must be doing very well study than get a

government job in UPSC like IAS ,IPS ,IFS etc...You must be Indian

citizenship.Your age limit should be 21 to 30 years and get a relaxation for

reserved category.You can attempts IAS examination 4 times OBC -7 times

and SC - no limit.IAS exam is conducted by UPSC.

Yes dear definitely you may crack the civil service exam and become an IAS officer because there is no problem about your subject and you have completed your master's degree with sociology so it would be easy for you choose this subject for you mains exam and you mush choose this subject to get higher marks in the examination and you may apply for this exam between following dates if you have completed your bachelor's degree from a recognized university

Start date for online application - 02-02-2013

Last date for online application - 04-03-2013

Date for UPSC civil preliminary - 19-05-2013

If you are serious to crack the civil service exam then you need to join any coaching institute to prepare for your exams because there is only coaching institute which may help to crack this exam and take your to your goad to become an IAS officer and you too will have to give at least 45 hours every day for your study then you would be eligible to crack the civil services exams and you should prepare hard and keep yourself continue according to the guidelines of your coaching institute and trust in yourself that you are eligible to crack the IAS exam and collect more and more knowledge about world and get the service.

Always keep two things in mind-
1) Hard work is the only ladder to success
2) Practice makes a man perfect

Hence you have the fire in you to get into UPSC,then no on can stop you!

Keep in mind one thing that it is the self study and the amount of hard work that you put after going back home is really what matters.
Revise all the notes that you make at home.
Keep doing hard work and burn your night lamps!
Give some mock test to check your preparations!
Try to work on your weak areas and work on them!

If you keep these things in mind,then I am sure that you'll easily sail through!

yes, of-course you ca also crack the exam. for that you have to well prepared for the exam.
remember that UPSC is not a single exam. It is a body which conduct various exams for various government posts.So first of select the exam for which you want to apply and then check your eligibility for the exam. then start preparation for the exam.


Tips For Preparation:

1. Understand the test by going through Syllabus and previous year papers.
2. Read newspapers and magazine it will prepare you for current affairs and take notes of important head lines.
3. Read books on General Knowledge.
4. Improve your aptitude.
5. Solve previous year papers for exam.

Dear,
For the civil service exam the qualification is required candidate must have graduate in any stream from the approved university. The higher qualification and the percentage of the marks in the graduation is no matter for the exam. you have the master degree in the social work then it is beneficial for you, you took the sociology subject in the mains subject.
The age limit for the exam is the 21 to 30 years
The age relaxation for the reserved category, three years for the obc category and five years for the sc/st category.
The exam notification is declared by the upsc in the month of the february-2013
