SCRA means Special Class Railway Apprentice.

The written exam of SCRA is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) for 4 years apprentice in Indian railways.

Eligibility conditions:

Educational criteria: 10+2 with first or second division in maths, physics and chemistry.

Age criteria:

Minimum: 17 years

Maximum: 21 years.

There is age relaxation as follows

3 years for OBC.

5 years for SC/ST.

Exam pattern of SCRA:

It consists of 3 subjects.

General ability test

Physical sciences

Mathematics

Each subject consists of 200 marks, total 600 marks.

After qualifying this written exam, candidates have to undergo Personality test/ Interview.

SCRA-stands for the Special Class Railway Apprentice-the exam is conducted by the UPSC ,for the admission in to the Indian Railways Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering for studying the Mechanical engineering,after which these candidates are appointed in the Indian Railways in the high post.

The process of selection is very rigorous and is done by the UPSC.
In order to apply for the SCRA,the candidates must have done their 10+2 with mathematics and any one subject between physics and chemistry with second division.
The age limit is -17 to 21 years.

The notifications are released in the official website of the UPSC in the month of October.

SCRA examination 2013 for selection of candidates for appointment as Special Class Railway Apprentices in Mechanical


Department of Indian Railways is held by the Union Public Service Commission in accordance with the rules published by the


Ministry of Railways ( Railways Board ).


Age limit:
17-21 years on 1st August of the year of examination.


Educational Qualification:
Must have passed in the first or second division, the Intermediate or an equivalent examination of a recognised university


or board with Mathematics and atleast one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.


Examination pattern:
Part I : Written Examination carrying a maximum of 600 marks in the subjects as shown below :


Paper-I General Ability Test (English, General Knowledge and Psychological Test)
Paper-II Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry)
Paper-III Mathematics


NOTE:Each paper is of 200 marks and 2 hours duration.


Part II:Personality Test carrying a maximum of 200 marks in respect of only those candidates who are declared qualified on

SCRA stands for Special Class Railway Apprentice. SCRA Exam is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates in the Indian Railways in the officer cadre.

The basic eligibility criteria for SCRA Exam are as follows:
Age Limit

Marital Status
The candidate should be unmarried.

Nationality
The candidate should be Indian.

Educational Qualification
For Army: 12th class pass of 10+2 of school education pattern or equivalent examination conducted by State Education Board or University.
For Air Force, Navy & Naval Academy: 12th class pass of 10+2 of school education pattern or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by State Education Board or University.

Details about UPSC SCRA Exam 2013 :

SCRA stands for Special Class Railway Apprentices which is conducted by the UPSC board to find out eligible and deserving candidates in railway sector for apprentice work under the central government of India

You must have passed in class 12th with mathematics and physics as a compulsory subject and any one of the - Biology/Chemistry/Computer Science from a recognized board to apply for this exam

Your age should not be less than 17 years and more than 21 year and relaxation in upper age as 5 year for SC/ST category candidates and 3 years for OBC category candidates in SCRA exam

Examination Pattern for UPSC SCRA Exam 2013 : There would be following subjects in this exam :

Section I - There would be following three tests conducted :

1. General Ability Test - English, General Knowledge and Psychological Test - 200 Marks

2. Physical Sciences - Physics and Chemistry - 200 Marks

3. Mathematics - 200 Marks

Physical Standards requirement would be done one the basis of following points :

Hi Aspirant,

UPSC conducts the SCRA exam every year for the recruitment of candidates in Railway department.

SCRA exam is organized at Intermediate level in whole India.

The notification for SCRA exam already updated at UPSC official website as well as employment news paper.

UPSC released the notification for SCRA exam on 13/10/2012 and last date of application form is 12/10/2012. While exam will be held on 20/1/2013.


Required qualification for SCRA exam

Candidates should be Intermediate qualified from recognized board.

UPSC conducts the SCRA exam to make recruitment to the Mechanical Department of the Indian Railways.
SCRA exam notification was advertised on 13.10.2012 and last date of applications is 12.11.2012.
SCRA will be held on 20.01.2013.

SCRA exam is consists of two parts :
Part I-Writteen exams of total 600 marks
Part II-Personality test of 200 marks for candidates qualifying the written exams.

Eligibility For SCRA Exam :
