Dear friend,
No they are both different.
IAS exam is National level exam and PCS exam is State level exam.
And more importantly they conduct almost same as term and conditions for both the exams.

Dear,

IAS exam under the civil service exam which is taken by the upsc every year.


PCS exam is the state civil service exam is like Punjab civil service (PPCS), Haryana Civil service (HPCS) etc.


IAS exam is the center exam which is taken by the upsc.


Almost term and condition are same for both the exam.


Age limit for the exam 21 to 30 years


Age relaxation for reserved category as per center and state government


Qualification is required candidate must have graduate in any stream

For IAS post UPSc conduct civil services exam .There are two exams-prelims -in May/Junemains-in October /NovemberCandidates who qualify the prelims exam are eligible for main exam.Any candidates who have graduation in any fields from any recognized university is eligible for civil services exam.Age limit for civil services exam is 21 to 30 years.Here are some famous subjects which are preferred by most of candidates-Indian HistoryPolitical sciencesEnglishMathsPhysicsChemistryAny language from a list ( given on upsc site )Public administration international relationsBiologyZoologySocial sciencesEconomics

no the entrance exam of ias and pcs are not same. ias exam is conducted by upsc(body of central government) and pcs(provincial civil services) exam is a state level civil services exam conducted by the respective state governments.

No they are different as the IAS is conducted by UPSC and it is national level exam and the PCS is state level exam....

No both are differently conducted by different bodies..

UPSC conducts many public civil services exam.

IAS exam one of them.

there is same Preliminary exam for every UPSC civil services exam.

UPSC exam consist these stages;-

------Mains exam

-----Personalty Interview

Eligibility;-

----you must be graduate from a recognized university

------there is no percentage requirement.

----General age limit is 21-30 years.

----you must be Indian citizen as well as Physically fit.

IAS stands for INDIAN ADMINISTRATION SERVICE

This exam is conducted by UPSC.

Whereas the

PCS stands for PUNJAB CIVIL SERVICE

PCS exam is conducted by the Punjab educational board.

So both the exams are different and they have different syllabus for the entrance exam.
