Age Limit For IPS :

GEN : 21-30 years
BC : 21-33 years
SC/ST : 21-35 years.

So, if you belong to General category then you are not eligible but if belongs to BC or SC/ST category then you are eligible for IPS.

Candidate must be graduate from any recognized university and also can apply in last year of graduation.

If you comes under General category then you are not eligible for civil services examination.

Firstly you know that IPS is an officer level post comes under civil services . For that you give civil services examination.

Age Limit :

General Candidate : 21-30 years
BC Candidate : 21-33 years
SC/ST Candidate : 21-35 years.

3 years age relaxation for BC candidate , 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST candidate and 10 years of age relaxation for physically handicapped candidate.

You did not mention that in which category you belongs.

The Age limit for the IPS exam for different categories are:-

**For General:-21-30 years
**For OBC:-21-33 years
**For SC/ST:-21-35 years
**For Physically Handicapped:-21-40 years

If you belongs to other than general category then you are eligible for the IPS exam otherwise not.
For this you also must have bachelor degree from recognized university.

but my friend having fit in the age criteria does not mean that you will be eligible for the same ,you have to fulfill all the other requirements of the examination. like given below:-

and yes there is a restriction of no of attempts also you you can only for a few times in the examination, so I advised you to first prepare yourself fully for the examination and than apply for the examination .

Dear friend IPS stands for Indian Police Services.

IPS exam is conducted by UPSC through Civil Services exam.

If you belong to General category then you are not eligible to apply IPS exam after.

Becuase the age limit for General category candidate is 21 years to 30 years but your age is 32 years.

If you belong to OBC category and SC/ST category then you are eligible to apply IPS exam.

Becuase the age limit for OBC category candidate is 21 years to 33 years and SC/ST category candidate age limit is 21 years to 35 years.

For apply IPS officer exam the minimu Education qualification is Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized University.

If you are in open category then you can't apply at the age of 32.

You haven't mentioned your category, to clear your query.

However, let us first see the required eligibility conditions for Civil services exam

The educational qualification required is any degree from recognized University.

The minimum age required to give this exam is 21 years and maximum is 30 years for general category.

There is Upper age relaxation as per the government guidelines.

The minimum age is 21 years and maximum is 33 years for OBC Category.

The minimum age is 21 years and maximum is 35 years for SC/ST Category.

So, as per the eligibility conditions, if you belong to general category, then you don't have chance to apply for the exam.

If you belong to any reserved category, then you are eligible to give the exam and there will be also relaxation in the number of attempts for the exam.

you cannot apply for the IPS exam being 32 years of age if you belong to the general category because the age limit for the general category is 21-30 years of age.
However, of you belong to the obc or sc/st category then you can apply for the exam because the age limit for obc and sc/st students is 21-33 and 21035 years respectively.

Sorry you are not eligible for IPS exam if you are a general category candidate and if you are OBC or SC/ST candidate than you have chance for applying this exam because there are 3 year relaxation for OBC candidate and 5 years for SC/ST. As you know maximum age for this exam is 30 years and you should have graduate degree in any stream from a recognized university.

sorry,you can't apply for IPS examat the age of 32 year.
IPS exam means Indian police service examination, which conducted by UPSC(Union Public service commission) in every year.
The minimum Eligibility for IPS :
The candidate must posses a degree from an Indian university or an equivalent qualification.Those in final year also appear the preliminary exam.
Age limit:
1.The general category candidates must have attained the 21 year age on 1st August of the year of examination & must have attained 30 year of age on that date.
2.The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC and 5 year for SC/ST candidates.
3.the upper age limit also relaxed for defence service personnel.
The candidate must be a citizen of India.
so,It is clear that one can not be apply for IPS at the age of 32 years.

You should have these criteria fulfilled to apply for IPS exams.

1. Graduate from a recognized university can write ipse.

If you are a general category candidate you are not eligible for applying IPS.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

1)A candidate should have a degree of graduation in any field from any recognized university.
2)A candidate in his final year is also eligible for the civil services exam. (IPS, IFS, IAS)
3)A candidate's age must be between 21 to 30 years. 3 and 5 years of relaxation for OBC and SC/ST respectively.

IPS - Indian Police Service - This post is under Central Indian Government which called as Civil Services department post and mainly for police or crime branch department post, UPSC Board conduct exam for this IPS post and candidates should have following qualifications and eligibilities to apply for this exam :

1. Candidates must have a graduate degree or completed his/her graduation in any stream from a recognized university with at least 50% marks

2. Candidates age must be between 21-30 years and relaxation in upper age provided to reserved category candidates as per government guidelines - 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBCs

3. Candidates must have following Physical and Medical Standards for this post :

Male Candidate :

Hight - 165 cm for general and OBCs and 160 for SC/STs

Chest - 84 cm and 5 cm expansion

Female Candidate :

Hight - 150 cm for general and OBCs and 145 cm for SC/STs

Chest - 79 cm and 5 cm expansion

Eye Sight : 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye

Near vision J 1 for good eye and J 2 for worst eye

Female Candidates should not be pregnant during the medical test

If you belong to OBC or SC/ST category then you can apply for Indian Police Services exam 2013

Hello Dear,

If you are SC/ST or OBC category then you are eligible for this exam but if you belong from general category then sorry because you crossed the above age limit

Age Limit

General candidate 21 to 30
OBC candidate candidate 21 to 33
SC/ST candidate 21 to 35

Other criteria is

There are minimum educational qualification is Graduate any stream from any recognized university.
final year candidate are also eligible for this exam

Attempts

For General 4
For OBC 7
For SC/ST No Limit

The age limit for the UPSC exam is below :

21-30 for general cast
21-33 for obc cast
21-35 for sc/st & ex-serviceman
21-40 for physically handicapped

Now if you belong to general cast then you are not allowed to give the exam .

But if you belong to other cast then you are allowed to give the exam .

But you also have to fulfill the education criteria like you have to complete the graduation from any recognized university .

so if you are eligible then start the preparation for the exam .

Hope you are in good health!

See,it would have been much better had you mentioned your category.
You must be at least 21 years of age at the time of filling the IPS Exam form and not more than 30 years of age (various relaxations are available for different categories).

For other categories,the upper limit limit has been raised by 5 years.

So if you belong to the General category,then I'm sorry to say that you cannot sit in the exam.
But if you belong to SC/ST or OBC,then you can surely go for it!
