Candidate need to be a citizen of India

Age Limit:

Be sure that there is no minimum specified marks criteria for the IES exam conducted by the UPSC.
IES stands for Indian Engineering Service and you need to satisfy following criteria for this exam........
Academic Eligibility:
You must be a graduate in Engineering from a recognized university in any one of the following stream.......
Electronics and Communication Engineering
Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Your age must be between 21 to 30 years( relaxation in age is there for the reserved category candidates)
You must be an Indian..........

There is no any percentage requirement in UPSC IES exam notification.

You can apply for it.

There is only requirement that a student who is 4 years graduate in any engineering stream he/she can apply for engineering services examination.

The Exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) in the month of June India wide. There are objective as well as subjective papers.

Eligibility for UPSC Indian Engineering Service Examination

You should have a bachelor's degree in engineering in any one of the - Civil Engineering/Electrical Engineering/ Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering / Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university

Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

Dear as you may see that UPSC board does not ask for percentage marks in your bachelor's degree to apply for any examination so that you do not need to worry and start preparing for this examination means you can apply for this exam and UPSC IES exam 2013 dates are following :

Start date for online application - 16-03-2013

Last date for online application - 15-04-2013

Date for UPSC IES Examination - 28-06-2013

Dear if you wants to make your career in your relevant stream then i would like to suggest you that you must prepare for this examination because if once you qualify this exam then you will definitely get a higher rank engineering post and you may be offered to work in various relevant organizations as - ISRO, DRDO, BHEL, NTPC etc. so that you need to work hard to make your future in your engineering stream and for that you should find out any good coaching and give more and more time for your preparation and you should only have good command over your specialization subject as if you have completed your BE with Civil Engineering then you should have in depth knowledge of your Civil Engineering then you will be eligible to qualify this examination so that dear you should not waste your time and start preparation because you may see that there is not more than 3 months left for the examination and each day is priceless for you

Yes you are eligible for it as the marks in the graduation don't matters..
The only thing is you have passed your graduation in engineering from recognized university..

and the age limit is 21-30 yrs....

>> There being no percentage bar for the exams conducted by the UPSC,be it the INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES examination,you can definitely appear for the IES examinations having secured the passing percentage,to say the least.

-The complete ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for the IES exams are mentioned below ::

01. NATIONALITY.
You must be a citizen of India,
or,You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan,
or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India before 1962.

02. AGE LIMITS.
You must be 21 TO 30 YEARS OF AGE.
However the upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and upto 3 years for OBC candidates.

IES stands for Indian Engineering Service

You can write this exam as you satisfy the needed education qualification and there is no specific percentage which you need to have possessed for writing this exam.

As you have told that you are a B.E student you are eligible but there is a condition and it is that you need to have passed from the following departments:

> Civil Engineering
> Electrical Engineering
> Mechanical Engineering
> Electrical and Telecommunication Engineering

If you have completed B.E from these departments means then you can apply for the exam.

The other things which you need to satisfy are Nationality,Age Limits

• Indian Engineering Service is conducted every year for recruiting engineers to the various engineering disciplines available in the central service departments .

• Having 6.5 CGPA you can apply for the engineering vacancy your tenth mark do not matters for the exam. Only the degree marks is considered.

• The minimum eligibility required for the exam is 21 and you can attempt the exam in final year if you are above the mentioned age limit

• The maximum part for the exam is 1000. It is divided into four paper . All the paper carries two hundred marks each. the first paper being general and aptitude . The second is discipline paper. First and second paper is for 200 marks and duration is two hours.

• Then there are two papers each of two hundred marks and duration being three hours . Following it is the personnel interview which is for two hundred . The total gross is 1000

Percentage bar is not required for this examination . So , don't worry about marks of Engineering Service Examination . So , you can apply for Engineering Service Examination.

IES Exam Eligibility:

Age Eligibility: (on the 1st January, 2012) You need to be between 21 years to 30 years. DOB should not be earlier than 2nd January, 1982 and not later than 1st January, 1991. Age relaxations exist as per Govt. rules.

Academic Eligibility: You must be a graduate in Engineering from a recognized university in Electronics/Civil/Mechanical/Electrical. Even Final year students can also appear in IES exam, provided he/she can provide the proof of passing the exam when IES exam (Written) result comes out, which is around December 2012.

IES Exam 2012 Important dates:

Date of notification & Online submission of form starts: 10th March, 2012.
Last date for submission of IES 2012 Online form: 9th April, 2012.
Date of IES 2012 exam: 15.06.2012 (3 days exam).

Eligibility criteria for Indian Engineering Services Exam-A degree in Engineering from a recognised University or eqivalent. M.Sc Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subject acceptable for certain Services/posts only.

So as there is no special percentage requirement for application , YOU CAN APPLY.

One paper for GS (General Studies) is part of the assessment system apart from the engineering subject of the candidate. The entire technical subject is divided into two papers (PAPER 1 and PAPER 2).
