    FOR OBC candidates age limit is as::
    Civil services : 21- 33 years.
    CPF : 20 - 28 years
    CDS : 19 - 28 years
    CMS : less than 35 years
    NDA : 16.5 -19 years

    I attempted IFS preliminary exam on 26 may 2013 but i have one doubt whether my attempt is counted for IAS because OBC candidate have 7 attempts.So how these 7 attempts are utilized??
    have i lost one attempt for IAS & IPS also????

    The basic eligibility criteria UPSC Examination are as follows:

    Age limit


    General 21-30 yrs

    OBC 21-33
    SC/ST 21-35 yrs


    Number of attempts permitted


    General 4

    OBC 7
    PH 7
    SC/ST No Limit

    Educational Qualification


    The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university

    Final year degree students are also eligible

    Degree obtained by distance education/open university is also eligible if the university is a recognized university


    Nationality should be Indian.

    It is nice that you want to join UPSC after Graduation degree.Graduation degree is minimum qualification for UPSC exam.

    General Age limit is 21-30 years.

    Age relaxation;---

    3 years age relaxation for OBC category
    5 years age relaxation for SC/ST category
    10 years for PH candidates

    Number Of Attempts;-

    4 times for General category Candidates

    7 times for OBC candidates

    No limit for SC/ST category

    UPSC conduct various exams like Civil Services,IES, CPF, CMS, IES/ISS, NDA & NA,CDS etc.

    here is the eligibility criteria for Civil Services Exam.

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

    >>you must have completed or appearing in final year of graduation.



    >>your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the year of exam. there is relaxation in upper age limit up to 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.


    Limit Number Of Attempts:


    >>General: 4 attempts
    >>OBC: 7 attempts
    >>SC/ST: No Limit

    Dear,
    The UPSC conducts various examination, but you have not mentioned any examination's name. Still, Generally, the age limit for the UPSC's CSAT examination is within 21 to 30 years. The upper age limit for OBC is 03 years and for SC/ST is 05 years. There is only 04 attempts for General candidates, 07 attempts for OBC and up to 35 years for SC/ST candidates for appearing the CSAT examination.     upsc conducts lot of exams. for which exams you are refering too?
    for upsc civil services exam obc candidates have upper limit 33 years and they can apply 7 times.

    As you are a OBC student no need to Worry

    There is an Age relaxation for OBC candidates








    The minimum age must be "" 21 "" years

    Maximum age is allowed up to "" 30 "" years


    And the Relaxation for OBC candidates is -- 3 years


    "" SO FOR YOU THE MAXIMUM AGE IS ALLOWED UP TO 33 YEARS ""

    And after this age you can not apply for it


    You can ATTEMPT FOR "" 7 "" TIMES TOTAL

    Dear UPSC board conduct various exams and requires different age limit which is following as

    UPSC National Defense Academy Examination

    Age should not be less than 16.5 years and more than 19 years

    UPSC Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination

    Age should not be less than 17 years and more than 21 years and 24 years for OBCs and 26 years for SC/ST

    UPSC Combined Defense Service Examination

    Indian Military : Age should be between 19-24 years

    Indian Naval Academy : Age should be between 19-22 years

    Indian Air Force Academy : Age should be between 19-23 years

    UPSC Civil Service/Police Service/ Engineering Service/ Forest Service/ Economic/Statistical Service Exam

    Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years

    UPSC Combined Medical Service Examination

    Should be between 21-32 years

    UPSC Geologist Examination

    Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 32 years

    Relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD and 5 years for Ex-Servicemen

    Number of Attempts allowed for this examination

    General Category - 4 times

    OBC Category - 7 times

    SC/ST : no limit but till 35 years of age

    The maximum age for OBC categories is 33years.The age limit is 21-33years for OBC non creamy layer candidates.The number of attempts specified for the OBC candidates is 7 within the specified age limit.As an OBC candidate you can appear 7times in Civil services.You can check out at www.upsc.gov.in

    The age limit for OBC candidates for UPSC exams in civil services,forest services or engineering services is 21-33years.But this relaxation is only for OBC Non creamy layer candidates.The number of attempts are also high.As an OBC category candidates,the number of attempts is 7.You can check the website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in for more details

    The age limit for obc student is 21-33.
    You can appear the upsc exam 7 time.

    The age limit for UPSC exam:

    21-30 years for Gen Category

    3 years relaxation for OBC category

    5 years age relaxation for SC/St category


    No. of Attempts:

    General category can attempt for 4 times.

    7 attempts for OBC

    No limit for SC/STs

    Dear friend,

    UPSC conducts various exams like civil services exam,IES,SCRA,NDA,CDS etc.

    age criteria differs with the exam you want to write.

    maximum age limit for obc:

    civil services exam:33 years

    IES:33 years

    forest services:33 years

    geologists exam:35 years

    combined medical services exam:35 years.

    etc...

    you can visit the commissions website or refer the notification of the commission published in the employment newspaper to get the full details abou the exam you want to write.

    generally,OBC candidates get a relaxation of upto three years from the upper age mentioned.but it also varies.

    OBC candidates get age relaxation of 3 years from the upsc,
    upsc provides age relaxation of 5 years to those candidates who belongs to the OBC category,

    age limit for the upsc exams
    generals 21 to 30 years
    OBC 21 to 33 years
    SC/ST 21 to 35 years.

    no of attempt
    generals 4 attempts
    OBC 7 attempts
    Sc/ST no limit
